Nebula TutorialAccess the tutorial here. Caution: image heavy! I decided to post this in advanced tutorials mainly because of how long it is. If this does not belong in advanced category, please move it (or delete it, which ever you can do). And if anything is unclear or problematic, please tell me so I can fix/change it.

Now that is longgg tutorial!. Must have taken some time to put together. Interesting way of making a nebula though.
Have you thought of making this a pdf file to download? As it is so long it would make it much more accessible to people with slower connections.

I was worried about it loading slow. In fact, half the pictures wont even load for me right now. Unfortunately, I only have a Word-to-PDF converter (free). It isn't that great either, and I doubt I could get the file size low enough to attach. But hopefully I can find some time in the MAC labs to wip it up. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey, if that converter isn't doing you that great, you could get OpenOffice.org, it comes with a word processor that can read and save to Word. It also comes pre-installed with PDF, and makes it a breeze to save to PDF. Best part is it's free.

Thanks man! I love the control of scribbling out where I want my nebula to be. Using the clouds plugin just doesnt give you that kind of control.

Finally got around to reading your tutorials. It's long, but that's a good thing because to teach is to be detailed, but leave enough for people to try it out. Nice work.

Most certainly do. That is a great picture looks almost real. I notice you have also put in stars in booth the background and foreground.

More within the nebula as opposed to in the foreground. If you take a look at most nebula photos you will see this effect- which I was trying to replicate. I suppose the large one in the middle could be considered as in the foreground though.

Thank you all, most recreated nebula I've seen do have a softer look to them, but I like the craggy look to this one. Our earth cameras aren't strong enough yet to get truly clear images.

Nice image Dotty. Like you say it quite a craggy effect but the colours are lovely.

Note to self: must try this tutorial.
I see HeatStroke is on DA now. He seems to be into Photoshop and fractals.

Thank you Goonfella, I'm glad you found something to like about it. Really. Thank you Pixy. The first one I did I used sandwiched in a bunch of layers for random color interest.
