This reminds me of an old tutorial at the former Fanatics board. Nice result, and good job of adding the required plug-in.

Nice one Ella, and the result is amazing, I like the right design, so realistic, the fabrics texture technique and the worn effect is so creative, well done.

Here is my attempt. I have been experimenting with trying to make denim for ages.I think my problem was trying to do it with the diagonal lines plug-in. The dash upwards was a stroke of genius. My twill is a bit too zoomed I think. As you can see I have added blackpenny's lace in there. Anyway great tutorial just how I like them plenty of pictures.

Very easy to follow and fun tutorial. It was just right for this newbie. How do I avoid getting the ridges on the bottom and left of the pocket? I noticed the one shown in the tutorial doesn't have them.

In my image the pocket has depth as in a cardboard box. I've included a screen shot with the areas of concern are highlighted. But the pocket top and right side also show depth, but it's not nearly as noticeable. Yours doesn't have this. I like the results best with single stitch at lower opacity and no drop shadow. Thanks for the tips.

I think it is the placement of stitching what gives the illusion. Try to move the stitching a bit to left and down that shoudl fix it.
You can also lower the Opacity on stitching to blend it in more, on mine I added some Drop Shadow under stitching to give it a bit darker look around border.

@ Blanco' ... it looks like you've used the Trail plug-in, instead of the Drop-Shadow Ella mentions

@ Blanco' ... it looks like you've used the Trail plug-in, instead of the Drop-Shadow Ella mentions My first Paint.net tip was to use the Trail Plug-in. I was doing the "Shattered Glass" tutorial on the paint.net web site. I spent hours and hours attempting to learn how to use the arrow keys for the effect. After I posted my half way decent image, someone suggested I try using Trail. Wow! What a difference. Trail is a great plugin. I've made several "Shattered Glass" images since. (I love the images the tutorial generates.) Anyway, your comment is humorous to me more than you can realize.

Hi, I checked your link and had to laugh, most of the comments there were complaints about how hard and useless the tutorial is. I'm glad you figured it out. I enjoyed making this. Here's mine. Didn't want fringe and didn't like my pencil marks, but I'm happy with it.

thank you Barbieq Never thought of using any of the shape makers, like polygon/stars, to use for making other shapes. I learn something new with each tutorial.
