OMG - how cool is that clock Amazing! I've just downloaded the PDN - for which many thanks .... it's so interesting to see how you created this

Thanks Pixey for the comment, I hope the pdn was clear because I resized it to about 30% This is the original image of the WOTW #37 competition of the main board: I am posting it here because Possum when re-uploaded it in his account, Photobucket downgraded the quality very much I don't know why. BTW, the writings on the ICs in this versions are not the same, I distort them there.

"Crazy" is right. This is unbelievable. Wow. Just looking at all the detail makes me think that something like this is impossible to do. Great work. I'm glad you posted this here!

Honestly, those resistors are missing solder fillet. That's something I would have rejected if I was inspecting those PCB (that's what I do every day in my job, by the way). Basically, every circuit chips and through hole resistors are supposed to have solder fillet. That's something else I also do...solder components onto PCB, which isn't always easy, even when I am working under a 2,000x magnification microscope. A steady hand, 3 years of being a solder operator/inspector, and the right equipment will pull it off.
Other than that, I also think the clock needs a bit of a shadow to add some depth and "spacing" between the PCB and the clock. Otherwise, this is a solid, high-quality image.

Thank you very much Venicet, Helen and Lance. @ Lance, What do you think the best shape for the solder would be ? A ring shape or cone shape? I was really thinking about the solder, and it is easy to add, but I rushed it for the WOTW comp, I know it needs some more improvements, I am just not sure how to show the solder of the Rs and ICs assuming it is on the back side, but those other top holes needs a solder for sure. And about the light, the direction of the source of the light is coming from the sun at 10:08 AM in October California time, so I am not sure which part exactly needs a shadow as you mentioned.

Sargon, I am ever so pleased you posted this here! What an enormous amount of detail! I love the writing, of course. This is a most fabulous image & needs to be seen in all its glory.
I am very pleased too that we can all add to images to improve them. I would never have picked up on the solder but I've seen enough circuit boards to know that they should be there, Oh well.
Even if you leave it the way that it is - I love it! It is quite oniony...keep peeling back the layers. Stunning & thanks so much for posting it here.

Solid and high quality it certainly is Sargon. I can`t add much to what Lance said but as I`ve never really seen a circuit board in the flesh I`m not in the best place to advise on the solder question, I`ll leave that to Lance. All I can say is - superb!

He, he. Being used to look at PCB's myself, must echo the words of Lance. ;D That is a very impressive picture. So many details to look at and study. And quite an inventive composition of completely different themes. Makes a nice surrealistic picture. Must have taken quite a lot of time to make.

I love it! Definitely my fave of all the comp entries. I know nothing of PCBs, so it looks fine to me.

When I first saw this, my first thoughts were Wow, love the detail in this My second thought was ... that's Sargon's work
Solder work ... cone ... definitely
It would add even more depth to an image already swimming in it

Sargon, it generally depends on what components needs to be soldered. For a through hole, it is typically cone shaped, but for a surface mount (like the chip), it sometime looks spread out if you are looking at it from the top. I'll leave it up to you.
Couple of thoughts - leaded solder is typically very smooth and very, very shiny while a lead-free solder (what I typically work with every day) is grainy and duller in appearance (under the microscope of course).
Sorry about the shadow...I wasn't sure where the lighting direction was, but this is a pretty cool design, very abstract for sure.

@barbieq, thank you very much , and you are right, we are here helping each other. Goonfella, thanks mate. Leif, thanks, yeah it took about 4-5 hours to complete it. blackpenny, thank you very much. @welshyblue, thanks a lot mate, I added some solder, but didn't like it, it was so uniform, so I had to make several different shapes, one for each end hole, working on it, I really don't wanna elevate it to a realistic image @lance, thanks for the information, no problem Lance don't be sorry. I know this is crazy haha ;D: I was trying my phone's camera for a close-up shots a while ago, and this was the only available thing that minute, I modified it to this: From this original:

Crazy maybe, but pretty cool! Snails are interesting once you get past the slime. *lol*

I hear that if you sprinkle salt on snail, they die horribly.... I honestly thought you create the snail from scratch. At first, I thought, "That look way too realistic to be done in PDN," and then I compared to the photograph. I see what you did. Very clever.

ick! I really don't like snails! or slugs or any slimy bug! Spiders are the worst though. They are the reason I'm so sick for over 2 years now. Great job on the manipulation though!
Lance, not sure about the salt. But my favorite bug spray is hair spray! Spray them with that then they can't move. Easy to squish after that LOL

It looks to me like you got the snail to pose on the background...WOW! That is way, way cool! The background is a perfect foil for the snail in terms of shape & colour. Great reflection too. You've done a super job here.

That's so cool. I like your own addition of the slime trail in back--well, it's more visible at the least. The reflection of the glassy floor is awesome.

Excellent work with the shadows and reflections Sargon. It`s these that really make the image stand out I think.

I love snails but not in my garden. Thankfully here they are quite controllable because it is so dry most of the time.
I hope you will do some more images like these. Still trying to get my head around the fact you did this on the fly as it were. It is just so polished!

Thanks everyone for your comments and nice words. Here is another image manipulation, the leaves are real, I cut 5 from the vine, put them on a white paper and took photos in few different angles, then deleted the background in PDN. Then I drew the grapes bunches, branches, tendrils, petioles and arranged the leaves around, then added some dropshadow shadows. Hope it is good :
