Plug-ins needed: Tile Image Object Align Kaleidoscope Using Kaleidoscope to get shapes. Using textures instead of gradients, gives interesting results ... Some examples of using a different starting texture ... Other shapes are possible, have a play around, experiment with settings and textures ...

Played with it. Opted for Seamless Texture Maker to add some geometry and symmetry flops to my fiery pattern creation ... ran twice to generate the four lines ... Then max on the geometry to generate lots of folds in the pattern. Happy outcome with it as for once I had more than 1/2 a clue how to run with the ball a little ... Fun diversion ... with some polar inversion you can create all sorts of fun things. Might be something to mention is that the potential of dead space allows for making "other things" with this sort of geometry. Most people seem to get caught up on what to do with that darn thing ... Hrrrrm, I'm going to make a quick example to back that up ... Second reply here on that. First the two items generated from going through the tutorial. By the book more or less. As mentioned above, 100 fold and a slight divergence to get the four parallel lines: And fun with gradients, blending, some lomography, some vignette, splinter blur, fire, color/flip rotate ... and of course, polar inversion. Couldn't resist that space in the middle. I think that's about all I did to that ...:

Some potential results of using polar inversion on the base 50 point star object from my first run: *** Potential Polar inversion morphing of a triangle using that method: Using Polar Transformation to generate yet another series of patterns based off of this geometry generation method: and off-centered: Various arch patterns can be created with simpler geometry using the same approach and zoom levels. *DISCLAIMER: Not trying to mod the tutorial (I think we already saw enough of that ...) Just discussing a potential further step(s) that can be taken with the creation method since it lends itself well to it.

As the man said - experiment. And you have certainly experimented Del. Good work. I have not had much chance to do anything recently . I must find time. Nice tutorial by the way Welshy.

Welshy, you've done it again. Thanks buddy for a superb tute! : ;D Here is some of what I got with it: KallyAmber KallySpot KallyStar Thanks Welshy for such an easy tute that gives such great outcomes. Delpart - love your outcomes too. I guess that is the sign of a great tute when people can see how to use it in a different way straight off.

Okay, dont hate me for this but I had a small glimmer again thanks to the tut ... Not exactly dialed in on the tut, but I was doing some similar things with a smudge skull I was doing ... Then just now needed a fast icon to test some things with file associations and made one ... Was looking at the darn thing and thought, "Wow, I bet the geometry of this will be cool with some polar or similar ..." Before: After some kaleidoscope fun: Again, the purpose of the tuts should illicit this sort of thing and all that. Thanks again mate.

Okay, dont hate me for this but I had a small glimmer again thanks to the tut ... Hate ? Nah ... pleased yep. I'm a firm believer that tuts' should be there to just guide along and open up a few gateways ... there's painting by numbers for things to be exactly as it says on the box text is a great thing to be manipulated ... I did one of my latest jewellery pieces using metallic text Really nice jobs everyone. Hopefully will have time to add more 2moro night ...
