Replacement Cursor Files to Improve UsabilityThe Line / Curve tool shares the same cursor set as the Pan tool. The hand shaped cursor is okay for Pan tool use, but tends to get in the way when using the Line / Curve tool. The cursor's hotspot is located somewhere in the middle of the hand and isn't clearly indicated. This tends to cause the line to shift every time you go mouse button down on an adjustment nub. The cursor also blocks the view of the area near the nub. Installing these cursors will reduce the problem considerably. Open the zip and copy/paste the cursor files into the en-US folder. Typically: "C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Resources\en-US" If your Paint.NET doesn't have this folder, create a new folder with this name. Attachments:

Not only are you PDN super sleuth, you are a secret coder. What's next, you'll create a plug-in for everyone to use?

Well isn't that something!! With a lot of my images there is so much line tool used & it is always such a hit & miss that it takes ages for the very reasons you have stated - the cursor gets in the way & is so darned annoying.
Thanks so much Sarkut. This is fantastic! I'd give you a great big hug if I could. Well done!
Super sleuth, secret coder & sweetheart is what you are.

This really does make using the line tool so much easier ... @ Lance I think you should amend the custom title to include the words SuperStar

for me this has to be the tip of the year award in the making. It will be the thing that has the potential to improve all our line artwork the most this coming year.
thanks ciao OMA

Yeah, I got to agree. The cursor makes it easier to grab the nub and not have keep my tongue hanging out to preciesly grab the nub.

Now I`ve been using your new cursor I really believe this is something that should be built into PDN as standard. So so much better than the one you get at the moment.

Thanks Sarkut works great.
I would like a way to make my color, layers and history more transparent, like in your PDN skin entry awhile back

Post by Sarkut on Jan 22, 2011 5:25:10 GMT
Yeah. It would be nice to have a transparent window option. Unfortunately, that skin contest entry was pure fakery.
