Have an idea for a competition? Use this thread, instead of the Off-topic subforum, to discuss ideas for the challenge.
Fire away the ideas.
I know Possum had an interesting idea and that got my mind going...

I think a "make someone else a signature" competition would be fun and possibly hilarious Have a nice day, ~Sidneys1

I agree! How would we go about implementing who does who?

Random lottery perhaps. Names in a hat drawn at random.

If anybody wants to run a comp, let me know. I can't do it all.

I can give it a go. I'll need some assistance with setting up the poll etc at least for the first time.

Will be glad to help with polls, if needed. I really don't like the ProBoards poll setup. No provision to edit the poll after the form is closed initially. Mistakes can't be corrected. There is a limit to the number of characters in an answer, so thumbnail image code can't be used. Too long.

Thanks guys! I really will give it a go with your help.
Sarkut, how did Lance do it last time?
or
Can we use an external one that is free? I think Simon Brown used Poll Daddy & on that one you can hide the votes until the end.
I like the idea of making a sig for someone else but since there are nearly 30 of us it will be hard to choose who, so I will use Sidneys suggestion if we want to go ahead with the comp.
Please let me know if you want this one to run.

For a banner or sig contest, thumbnails aren't really needed. For a large image contest, the inability to use clickable thumbnails as poll "answers" is an inconvenience.

All I did was enter the user name in the poll answers, and in the first post enter all the info (graphic links, and etc). Sarkut, I agree the poll is very inflexible and attaching to the 1st post, but can't remove or edit the attachment is a utter nonsense. I wonder if there's a way to work around that.

I've had the question posted at Support. Seems to be deliberate policy. No work-arounds on offer.
=================================
Someone on the Support board had a clever idea as to how an admin could get thumbnail code to work as answers in a poll.
It involves using Censored Words as a re-direct.

That does stink. phBB seems to be a lot better when it comes to polls.

barbieq25 and chrisco97, I have made you both a moderator of the Fun Challenge board. That mean you can run comps, set up polls, and whatever. If there's any question, don't hesitate to contact me, Sarkut, or Welshy.

Cool! Thank you Lance!
I was thinking more about Sidneys' idea on making a sig for someone else. I'd like to modify the theme a bit. I need to ask someone about it first, so stay tuned, please.
