Welshy & I discussed posting our garden images since a few of us are mad keen gardeners too. I suck at taking photos but will share with you what I have. Firstly, I have some air plants, a bit of a misnomer because they don't just live on air. They need to be misted & fertilised like any other plant. The rock & shells I found on the beach & I put the whole lot together with a hot glue gun. Mind you it doesn't stick too well on the rock. I need a plan C because plan B was to use superglue. Now I'm thinking contact cement? I'm hoping that you all post your garden/plant images here & maybe even give some tips & tricks for gardening.

I love how you have the seashells with the plants. I love seashells, by the way. It's very cute how you put the plants and everything else together--it all goes so well. I don't have a garden, but my brother does. Might post pics of it...

Most adhesives react to water so I would try some clear silicon sealer. It doesn't do any harm to fish or plants when I make aquariums. Might be worth a try.

Putting up photos of gardens is a good idea. I don't have a garden, but those of you who look at my DA will know that don't stop me from taking pictures of flowers. Those are some pretty and decorative plant you have there. There is a sort of artificial garden look on them. Kind of reminds me of a Japanese garden. Barbieq, an advice on taking photos. If it is still leben it is worth looking at what else is in the photo. Try to remove as much as possible that has nothing to do with what you want people to see. And look at the background also. Walk a bit around the plant before you take the picture.

Helen, I love shells too, esp. the snail-types. Please do post some pics of your brother's garden.
Dug, the hot glue is like a silicone only melted. I must admit that I was short on time each time I attempted the gluing. Maybe I'll try again when I am more relaxed & can think about the best way to attach the heavier snail shell. I agree with the silicone not being harmful to fish or plants. I used to keep fish too but had to sell the whole deal when we moved up here.
Leif, they do look so not real but they are. That is what I love about these plants. Quite out of the ordinary & they do have a Japanese feel about them. Quite reminds me of an image that AFG did some time ago.
Believe it or not I did that, Leif. I took a stack of photos for hubby & most of them are blurry. I think I have been guilty of taking one good photo, only one! ;D I even tried taking one from above. More planning I think is the key. Lighting was bad too since I had bright light from 2 sources. Ah well, I'll keep trying. Thank goodness for digital!
I love the pictures of the plants you take. It is really good to be able to see plants from far away.

Barbieq, I love the plants and the way you've arranged them. I think they have a Japanese feel too. For adhesive, you could try some kind of epoxy. Or check this website www.thistothat.com/ for advice. I'm not great at taking photos either. Mostly I hold the camera up and click, and hope I get something good. ;D As for gardens, here's mine. It came with the house. LOL

@ Barbieq I get lots of blurred photos. I think there are two possible reasons. #1 The auto focus is focusing on something else then what you want it to. I often have that error. #2 The camera uses too long exposure time. As a rule of thump, you can keep a camera steady in your hands at longer times then 1/60 sec. @ Blackpenny That is a pretty tulip. Yeah, most of the time there comes some sort of garden with a house. And well. Two of mine that haven't made it to DA.

BP: Tulips are really cute. I like how their stems are sturdy and so are their petals. Leif: I absolutely love them. What type are they? Well, here are some of the things located in my brother's garden. Some of the other flowers are my sister's. 1. Apple tree 2. Peach tree 3. Irises (my sister and I replanted them for fun) 4. Another peach tree 5. Some kind of cedar tree 6. Hibiscus plants (we have around three bushes) 7. Gooseberry 8. Black currants 9. Raspberries 10. Strawberries 11. Marigolds (to keep them pesky bugs away) 12. Zinias (my sister's flowers) 13. Celosia (my sister's) 14. Sage (my brother is also into herbs--it's very good for the hair and has an amazing fragrance) This was just one half side of the garden. There's another side (which looks more like mini woods). I was too lazy to take pictures of it. Might do that later.

BP, tulips! It is not cold enough for them here but I love them. I like the colours of yours. Leif, there are gorgeous flowering shrubs. Lovely colours too. Helen, so many things you have that you can eat. Raspberries, blackcurrants & real apples! It is a great bunch of plants that you have. It is so nice to see everyone's plants. I hope there will be many more images like this. Leif, I don't have auto-focus. It is definitely the photographer at fault here since hubby has no problem

Leif, those are very pretty.
Helen, your brother has a wonderful garden.
Those 3 tulips are the extent of my 'garden'. The yellow ones have a bit of orange or red when they open up. When the dog was a puppy she was digging up the bulbs and trying to eat them, so we figured it was safer to do it ourselves. I guess we missed a few.
We used to have raspberries, but we cut them down to repair the fence and they didn't grow back. Actually the ones that were growing wild between our house and next door grew better, but they were hard to access so we removed them.
We're really not gardeners. I'm a disaster with plants, even house plants don't survive long around me. But I love other people's gardens.

Lance is going to hate this thread ;D ;D (Sorry Lance. Couldn't resist mate ) And I can always delete this thread if I wanted to . . . ;D Seriously, though, it actually made me laugh when I saw the thread, and I might post a photograph of something from my front yard. By the way, if you are handy with a hedge trimmer and a mini chainsaw (why am I suggesting you aren't? since you are a forestry contractor), you could give it a try. I have seen some bonsai-style tree in some fancy neighborhood or even at a McDonald!

My heart stopped when I read "delete this thread". But glad you got a laugh out of it.
I like the topiary, Welshy. One of my neighbours did a cup & saucer with a Cuphea. I liked the irony of it too.
Lance, I remember you have, or at least had an amazing orange rose. We'd love to see your garden too.

Barbieq, here ya go! Alas, that rose bush seem to be dying. I think the cause might be a) black plastic my wife and I installed last summer to combat weed, b) we have received unusual amount of rain last month, or c) it might have a disease it contracted somehow. My wife think it's C, and I think it might be a combination of all. It is a truly beautiful variety of the Knock Out Roses...

That is the one! It is so very beautiful! Thanks again for sharing it.
I think you are right, a combination, not that I know much about roses themselves. Too much rain & not enough good drainage drowns the root system & the plants are more susceptible to diseases. I hope it hangs in there.

Whoa, you guys are great photographers as well, all the photos are very nice, I wish if I have a garden to share some photos here with you, why we don't make this thread general for all kind of photos on everything, I am sure we'll have a great collection, because we live in different countries that will make it so awesome. Got to keep my camera with me

Sargon, that sounds great. Don't know about the thread title. Can it be changed? Maybe start a new thread for photos other than garden as a back up plan?

@bbq - Your arrangements are as beautiful as your art work. You certainly are gifted and very artistic indeed @bp - I adore poppies and red ones are my faves Leif - Those pictures are absolutely amazing Helen - Your brother's garden looks like a dream and what a variety @w.B. Eek - What a price for a hedge @lance - Wow! That rose is so beautiful and it could come live in my garden any time Here are some photos from our garden. I am not very good with plant names, but luckily some of them will be quite recognisable to everyone [img src=" i742.photobucket.com/albums/xx62/Pixey-/th_Purpleflowers.jpg"]

@ Lance Very pretty rose. It looks strong and healthy to me. @ Pixey Your garden looks like what my friend call "controlled chaos." ;D Lots of pretty flowers that looks like they are allowed to grow almost like they want to. But still under control. Must be quite soothing to look at after a hard days work. And last one i took today in my sisters garden. Don't ask me what it is. The original plant died during the frost in winter. And this one just sort of filled the empty space. ;D
