I agree with both of you - except mashed potatoes. Today I made bacon & egg burgers with lettuce, tomato & Swiss cheese. Yum!

LOL sausages seem popular. I love them too. My fave are sausages made at a local shop with jalapeno and cheese. So hot they make my mouth burn. Yummy. mash is??..... like cubed potatoes?
Today I haven't eaten yet, but tonight I'm making hot pork sandwiches, baked potatoes and there's a choc cake waiting for frosting on the kitchen counter. Not sure if anyone knows what hot sandwiches are. it's roast pork between slices of bread and covered with gravy. God, I may as well just apply directly to my hips! LOLOL

Roast pork and gravy. Nice. Roast pork sandwiches. nice. But bread and gravy ? Ucky. My wife and kids like to put a slice of bread and butter on their plates to mop up the gravy after a roast dinner. I find the texture pretty horrible Mash is boiled potatoes, which are mashed up with milk and butter. Creamed potatoes in the US ? Nice with mustard seeds in

ahhh. so it's short for mashed potatoes. LOL okay. Hash browns is little cubes of cooked potato fried crispy that is usually served with eggs and bacon at breakfast. Kind of like home fries. which is why I thought mash was something different. I used to hate gravy until I tried hot sandwiches. Messy, but tasty. I use less than normal the amount of gravy though. Have never tried mustard seed in potatoes. We like onion, butter and grated cheddar cheese and sometimes crumbled bacon too. But usually just plain mashed with milk and butter. Will have to try it with mustard seed sometime soon. any special meat you eat that kind with? Anybody getting hungry yet? ? LOLOLOLOL

Mustard seeds sounds good to me too. I like bread with my gravy too but not the butter or marg. Onion we use in mashed spuds too. No idea what to cook for dinner. I had a sausage, Shepherds pie & rice salad (weird I know but I was at the jail & I can mix up what I like from the salad bar & the guys only serve me what I like ). Not in the least bit hungry but I will have to cook something. Spag Bog maybe??

Thyme in mashed spuds & garlic! Oh yum!
Spag Bog is spaghetti bolognese...
Love the idea for bacon wrapped meatloaf.
EDIT: yep, sometimes I forget to clarify that bit. Mind you my other boss thinks its funny to send emails to other staff members & miss that point entirely on purpose.

Speaking of mashed potatoes, did you ever tried them with chopped scallions and a little bit of salt sprinkled on top? Oh, yum!

I had to google scallions 'spring onions' over here. Agreed with them being nice in mash with a bit of salt. Has to be sea salt tho' Tonight I had a cheese, chives and smoked ham omelette, with baked beans. And a squirt of brown sauce to give it a lil' bite

I can't say I'm a big fan of baked beans ... just weirdly fancied them with the omelette Mashed potatoes (mashed with a garlic cream cheese instead of butter) fresh runner beans from the garden and gammon.

Hind leg is the part that gammon comes from. Very nice too. Picked some tomatoes, sweet peppers & zucchini (from the garden) fried with an onion & lots of fresh herbs & cracked pepper with rib fillet steak marinated in 1/2 cup soy sauce, tsp of ginger, tsp of garlic, 1/2 tsp chinese five spice & fried on high heat. Some sort of bruschetta stone ground Italian bread on the side. Fabo! Had that a couple of nights back & not much else since then really. Tonight is Italian chicken sausages with roast spuds with shallots & lite sour cream, fresh yellow butter beans & whatever else the garden has in store

I had Chindian, or maybe a Indinese? ;D
Beef in black bean sauce with rice and Chiken Tikka Masala with rice - all on the same plate. Very tasty it was too.
