Liver? Cooked right it can extremely tasty; with shit-loads of good things vitamin wise Offal isn't everyone's cup of tea but the right pieces from well cared for animals can be just enjoyable as an expensive steak. With a lot less cost. Plus the health benefits ------------------------------- Tonight it was Bubble & Squeak Last nights leftovers of potato, cabbage and carrots mashed together with a bit of onion, leek and mustard. Moulded into 1/4 pounder size and shallow fried. Served with left over lamb and a squirt or 2 of tomato ketchup Damn. 11:09 pm and I want to break my diet ;D

Too much !!! I moan about Christmas but still indulge on the day. Roast turkey, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, mashed potato, carrots and swede (mashed with butter) peas, sprouts, 'pigs in blankets', homemade sage and onion stuffing with a turkey gravy to die for ... not forgetting the cranberry sauce Still stuffed from that it was a get-together @ the mum-in-laws house. Sandwiches, homemade scotch eggs, sausage rolls, pickled onions, cheeses, quiches, gateaus and cheesecakes and the various buffet staples Lots of flowing alcohol and the best thing @ the end of it all is a couple of glugs of Gaviscon

Home made Deep fried Bree in breadcrumbs covered in a lovely home made pasta sauce for starters.
Turkey, pork, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, carrots, two types of stuffing (both gorgeous), little sausages on a stick wrapped in bacon, green beans, calabris but NO SPROUTS! I hate sprouts , always have. ;D I think that`s it.
For afters a slice of home made Baileys tart instead of Xmas pud for a change.
Oh and plenty of nibbles like twiglets, cheeselets and so on plus chocolate and a few beers and white wine and soda.

Argh! I'll never eat again, ever Whilst I cooked I sipped on Bubbles as I prepared: Roast crackling pork (we're off turkey) roast potatoes, both white and sweet potatoes (yams) for moi, parsnips, onions and peas in white sauce, apple sauce, sausage meat wrapped in bacon & thick gravy. Not a 'sprout' in sight .... hate them like Gooney Also, no stuffing either, as it doesn't agree with my digestion any more. With dinner some red wine. Suffice it to say, no dessert, as we've found that with advancing years we just can't manage it any more

Yummy for all the food above!
We had goose with green beans, kale, and mashed potatoes mixed with green scallions. We then had prosciutto rolls with spaghetti and home-made sauce.
For dessert, we had strawberry log cake, strawberry cheescake, and then pomegranates and clementines as a "fruit" portion of the meal. And then sparkling juices and apricot and mango nectar.
By the way, I thought I'd burst yesterday. lol ;D

Turkey, and more turkey. And chocolate and other treats.
We had Brussels sprouts yesterday - Yum! Really, you have to try them with an X cut in the bottom. Makes a huge difference. I even had some that way in a restaurant recently.
Tomorrow I'm going to eat sensibly. And exercise. I mean it.

Minus the brussell sprouts, all the food sounds fantastic!
Kitchen stayed cold. Way, way too hot... We had sliced ham & salad (much of it from our garden) followed with watermelon & a tiny bit of ice cream.

Finished the left overs yesterday. Today I had a Chicken Vindaloo with Pilau rice with Onion Bhaji`s and some triangular things with meat inside that I can`t remember the name of! Oh and some Garlic Nan bread to wipe the plate clean.
(anyone got any ideas on the triangular things? Starter for ten , no conferring as they say on University Challenge! ;D )

I had to Google Buffalo fish Is it similar taste to trout ? Tonight it was guinea pig time as my wife tried a recipe she'd seen on TV. Canned tuna, the pulp from baked potatoes, spring onions and chopped chillies in breas crumbs shallow fried. Served with new potatoes and salad with a sweet chilli dressing. My 1st thoughts were ... SALAD ?? It's minus 3 outside; I've frozen my crown jewels off all day and I'm getting salad The first taste changed my mind and I stopped sulking. ;D Loved the meal but didn't enjoy the taste of humble pie ...

@welsh: Yes, Buffalo fish is similar to trout only drier. However, when it's grilled, all the juices come out and oh, I'm drooling.
@barbieq: I only tried dragonfruit a few times. My brother likes to eat it. It has an interesting taste. Kind of like a kiwi mixed with a melon? Not sure how to describe the taste. The blueberry cheesecake sounds yummy!

Gosh BP, I thought the same thing when I first read it. There are people who eat them. I remember reading somewhere that guinea pigs are, like other animals who are kept for food, fond of having places to hide in & don't like open spaces. I wonder if I can convince hubby to take me out for breakfast. The is a wonderful little bakery/restaurant that does Eggs Benedict to perfection & close by is a Sunday market

When I need to zone out and hit up Microsoft gaming zone they keep giving me ads for fast food like Burger King. I put up with the ads but sometimes it really makes for some tough decisions about which arm I'm going to start nibbling on. ;D Powerful imagery and a liking for greasy pleasure giving food is hard to avoid.
Main issue is the banner ads. Even ignoring them like we do they are there. Which reminds me I started working on a cantaloupe earlier and need to put something else with that for a late lunch of sorts ...

Didn't get my brekky but we had an amazing Tandoori pizza with tossed salad. I never eat breakfast. Never have. Maybe why I'm still worried 20 years later that I never ate my last breakfast from Her Majesty and myth has it that anyone who misses it will go back to eat it ... ... but tonight it was new potatoes, carrots, green beans, chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce followed by a Double choc souffle. The main meal was fantastic ... the sweet - 4 hours later and my teeth are still yinging from the rush of sugar infused into something shop bought. No wonder I can't lose a stone. ;D
