Hi there. Suddenly, after downloading Curtis' Equation plug-in for the third time (don't know if it is a co-incidence) my PDN is not working properly. It's not saving anything in PNG and, every time I try to open a png it takes me back into Paint.NET - as though it was PDN I seem to recal, when I had XP, that there was a way to test Paint by clicking on a link in the Programme files area, but I cannot find this option in Windows 7. Any advice will be much appreciated

Are you thinking about?
Computer > OS > Programs > Paint.NET > PdnRepair.exe
I have never used it, so i don't know how it works. But the file name looks like it.

Hi Leif - Thanks for that ..... I've tried that twice and it has not taken care of the problem. Jeeez ............. I hope I don't have to un-install and re-install the whole programme EDIT: I just sorted it out (I think). It was my computer that had taken over viewing in Quicktime mode. Once I made my default viewing Picasa, then all the png's came back to normal and Paint did not open them anymore. Phew ;D Sorry for my mad panic

That`s why I got rid of any Appleware ages ago, including iTunes. Never been a fan of that company. I did go into the new Apple shop recently and had a play on some of the computers on display but I would never buy one. Not at their prices.

Always make sure to associate certain image files (.JPG, .PNG, etc) with Paint.NET so it will open those files by default.

It is great for browsing many pictures. But i have Irfan set up to make it possible to export pictures to PDN by Shift+e.

But be careful which ones you associate. I remember once I thought I would be clever and try this but I ended up associating all types of files, including zips. Of course PDN can`t open those and I had a real headache working out how to sort it. In the end it needed a fix in the registry. So if you do decide to associate files , make sure you check which ones - unlike me!
