So what are you listening to right now? I've got The Greatest Hits by the Eagles playing, actual song, Heartache Tonight. Why does that song always make me want to get up and dance?? Bad, bad idea to listen to music just before bed! I'll never get there now... LOLOL

@ Leif ... I'm not sure if corny or cheesy is the word I'm looking for. But both songs, no matter how much I don't like them ... can't stop myself singing along whenever I hear them @ Minners' ... really enjoyed that. A really good song featuring a great man in the video. Awesome sound on the vocalist - I'm always looking to expand my album collection - can you recommend one by them ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Iuky5F_DS8Dead Girl Walking - Kidney Thieves ... turned onto these by Rick on the main board

Jeff Wayne`s War or the Worlds. I have the full double CD edition with Richard Burton telling the story. Utterly brilliant!

Without wanting to sound biased ... Richard Burton has a great voice - great tone to it Weirdly enough I'm listening to another Welshman with a great tone. I was thinking about my brother who's death anniversary is today. He was a proud nationalist and I just had to put this on: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WooUv0QttKs Always gives me goosebumps the passion in his voice

Well these sorts of threads often need a bump to keep up a flow. I've discovered all sorts of music thanks to people sharing in places like this.
Not original at all, but this little remix concept got stuck in my head early when I was looking for some inspiration about spun sugar ...
The video is rather clever and campy. Most of the club remixes get pulled, surprised this one is still up there:
Skipping the original song as the video content may be questionable to some.

Some strange lyrics at times but great beat to it. Found myself air drumming a couple of times Trying to concentrate on a complicated image I find some yee-hah music inspirational, so a couple of hours of Don Williams www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DntxQ-vJFs&feature=related

@welsh: He sings so well. So calming, too.
As for me, I've been listening to Christmas songs (I have to admit, I've been listening to them since September).

@ wb and minners
Thanks for that. I dont normally go back into that realm much, but both of those are great breaks from my normal fair.
Which got me to where I am now. Up late fighting a migraine (and winning I think) ... plus struggling with trying to get PDN to do something I think it can do with color shifting and it made me think of this Grateful Dead song ... Transformations, etc.
Of course, there are tons of Grateful Dead songs and not everyone likes em. This one just makes me think of what I'm learning with basic composition right now for some reason. This one just has a really nice rift base thanks to Jerry's way with a guitar. Bonus is the nifty pic this tube uses as a background.

@ Minners' ... nice choice of song by a very good band. Scary to think we're all 30 years older @ Del' ... hope your migraine got better - what a great band. That was a blast from the past. Friend of The Devil is always guaranteed to get my spirits up @ Helen ... Christmas songs ? Nooooooooo. They're becoming far too frequent in our house, the past few days ... Listening to the ever spectacular Ruby Turner. I've been a massive fan since first hearing her 20 odd years ago ... www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG_NVyubQHQ

Eek Christmas songs ... @wb Thanks. I forgot I saw this but was caught up. The things are pesky and I lose time from it all. Even when I keep ahead of the buggers, I still lose chunks of memory etc etc. Meh, been dealing with them since I was 5 years old. It's just part of what makes me tick now as it were. So been digging through some older stuff and I was stuck on a theme in my head but I couldn't recall what or why. So again, music influences what I want to see or create. Or in some ways just allows me to alter my perceptions for a while ... The Beatles produced a song called Tomorrow Never Knows. The only problem with it is that it really diverges into some odd musical accompaniments that kill the focus on a wonderful lyric set. Main lyric I was hunting when I remembered this song was "Listen to the color of your dreams." Corny to some, but lately with all this color pixel pushing I've been up to it seemed to really be in tune with me. (Puns intended.) While the Beatles version is worth checking out I like others by Tangerine Dream and Our Lady Peace the most. There are some other good ones out there including the Grateful Dead (this is where at a concert it got stuck in my head the first time come to think of it ... hrm, I miss Jerry... ) Tangerine Dream's version: Our Lady Peace: Lyrics themselves: Listen to the color of your dreams Turn off you mind, relax and flow downstream And it's not dying, then it's not dying Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void And it is shining, it is shining That you may see the meaning of within It is being, it is being, now
Love is all and love is everyone And it is knowing, but it is knowing Let ignorance and hate mingle with the dead It is believing, it is believing
Oh, play the game, existence to the end Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, beginning Turn off you mind, relax and flow downstream It is not dying, it is not dying
Play the game, existence to the end Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Lay down all thoughts, surrender to the void
Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning Of the beginning, of the beginning
