**EDIT: First off to Sargon III - wow mate. Wonderful mini tut video on making smoke. Thank you sooooo much.
@everyone else: Its just something to do as a group. I think we all understand that not everyone is into it or has the time and what not. Plus I would hope we can take our time on it a bit to come up with a little of this and that.
@everyone: Which reminds me, when looking for a face profile to figure out what works for outlining, I got stuck on the American coin saying: e pluribus unum. Made me think of this tutorial idea. Figured my sunconscious knew that when I went looking for a liberty dollar ...
**END EDIT
Well not first off, but apologies for not having that other task on abr viewer difference done yet. Weather today, plus this and that. Now up with headache when I really need to be crashed. Argh. Figures. Etc. Though part of me is still . Hence my communicating in here.
I've gotten stuck on a few things with brushes ... Even got one little sidetrack with Madjik when I saw donut and thought it would help with smoke distortion. Hope he implements at least the offset control. Worse case I guess I get to learn how to hack a plugin ... where are my VS disks ... Okay the drugs are working I just spaced for a few minutes.
Where was I on some feedback though. Ah yes ...
First is the mini-brushes tool itself overall. I'm not a brush user but even I'm having some difficulties testing things here. And liking the darn thing beyond using it as a nifty stock library. (Again, lack of experience and control issues of the brush with brain ...)
Brush size limit is 600x600 visible output in the tool. You can throw any size at it but it doesn't seem to change much with how this thing works. i.e. Resolution only matters if you want up to 600, otherwise I cant tell a difference. I really should make a screen shot of my 600x and 1200x center dot brush to demo this. Could be I made a crappy brush, but I noticed it with some of the smoke.
Another was the mention that you could scroll control the size. I cant get this to work at all.
Also of note is that if you do scroll be careful as the last focus for the mouse on either the screen size slider or other things is likely to throw you for a loop. Or like my last test a few minutes ago, it locked my clipboard. (resolved with cleaning up some temp files etc, but it was spooky to get errors about clipboard ... spyware and all that comes to my mind first when that happens ...)
I guess I should just make the abr viewer overview and stop going so deep into all this ... somewhere in here I had lofty expectations for the tool and myself.
Argh I'm all negative. (Note to self, next time just wait until morning ...)
