Very nice spacescapes, Dryda. I like the third one, looks very scientific. Are you and Goonie in the same club?

It would seem we are at first And yeah, that equation, when solved, says "Paint.Net" (well...close enough)

Hi Dryda - clubmate! Nice to see you posting here. Those images are awesome. I really envy you in the fact that you can make such large images. It really brings out the detail. I`m afraid my laptop specs make creating images that size impracticable. Love the colours in Sea of Stars and of course the star spikes! The way you have managed to blend the light into dark on the planet and added the city lights is great. The one big thing that stands out in Prominence is definitely the shadows on the clouds. It really gives the image a 3D feel. The little satellite you added is a nice detail. Nice texture on the moon as well. And so to Art in Maths. Very clever idea and a great background image. A great start to your Fans gallery Dryda. Look forward to seeing more.

Welcome to the forum, Dryda! I love space art and if you have a dA account, let me know so I can watch you and add your artwork to my collection!
Now for a comment, I feel the "Sea of Stars" have too much uniformity with the sizes and shape of the flares in the stars. Other than that, the color balance is very well done, and the texture of the planet is impeachable. 4/5 in quality! It's a good thing.

Goonfella Thanks man The satellite in Prominence was in my original design, yet I forgot to put it behind the sun layer so it looks like it's a poorly made sticker - whoops. The maths thing was a lot of fun to figure out. I do Physics at University, so maths and space are right up my alley. Trevor Thank you! I've had quite the welcome here. My deviantart account is drydareelin.deviantart.com . About the uniformity, I was actually going for that but as I look at it now, a range would actually suit it better. Thank you again!

You're a terrific (oh, wow, I haven't used that word in a while) space scape maker!
LOVE your work!

"Sea of stars" is my favorite. I like the illusion of a star nublea shining on a planets surface. But they are all great.

I`ve added a longer reply on the main forum. Needless to say I think this image is STUNNING! I have often thought about creating a window image. The space outside is not the problem, it`s getting the right look inside that I struggle with. Clearly you have no such problems Dryda.

What a fantastic spacescape! Have you ever watched the movie, "Zathura?" Anyway, in one of the scenes the kid is standing inside his house and while the house is flying through space, he sees planets and asteroids. It's wicked cool. This image, in particular, reminded me of it.

Nice work. Now for a little critique...I noticed you said the model was watching the planet, yet her eyes suggests that she's looking down, like she's looking at her hands in her lap. If she was looking at the planet, perhaps her eyes and head would have been looking at the planet. My suggestion is instead of taking a snap shot like that, move yourself and the camera more to face the model and have her look outside ever so slightly. It would lend more realism to the image, IMO. I also encourage you to keep practicing cutting out the model because I can clearly see where you cut her out. Use feather! It's your friend.

Goonfella: You got your main reply on the forum, but there's another huge thanks. I appreciate it! Helen: I might check out this film sometime, although "Interstella" is coming out soon and it looks really good. Thank you! Trevor: I'll just reply to this with what I said to goonfella on the main forums;

It's always tough to work with a model that was sent to you, yet I think you managed it ok. One thing I remember from reading about space...the color is not a true black color, but a very deep bluish color that almost resemble black. I think it has something to do with a constant temperature and how our eyes compensate for it.

Nice image, Drydareelin! I like the look of the nebula. Also how the woman looks pensive.

blackpenny: Thank you Trevor: The "black" in my images is very rarely black - although the blue theory isn't exactly true. Because of the amount of stars in the sky, you'd think that you'd find a star in any direction you look. Although this is true, the reason space appears black is because the galaxies those stars are in are flying away from us faster than the light leaving them can get to us. So yeah, space is black! But, go to somewhere with an extremely clear sky and you'll get the ambiance of the Milky Way creating a "blue" feel

New image. As with the last one, I just can't get this one to look right. I don't know what it is, but in the end I just have to give up and show it how it is.

Leif: Whoops, fixed! I copied the URL for the small square into the HREF and SRC fields by accident .___. Currently one of the points made is that the reflection is too dark: If I get anything else similar, I'll brighten it up The water stops half way, so it's not exactly a hard edit.

New piece! I was aiming for good ol' peace and quiet in this one. Everything turned out pretty decent IMO, but the tree looks really pixelated and I could only tell after it was saved. Let me know what you think!
