Once I figured out how to get rid of the grid, I was lovin' it. The only way I could get rid of the grid lines from Pyro's Hexagonal Grid Plug-in was to save what I did after using BoltBait's Bevel Selection v.2 as a jpeg file, closing, and opening the saved jpeg file. I spent many hours trying to figure out what I was or was not doing that caused the grid lines to stick around. I am curious why this seemed to work. Anybody know? (Flattening the image and saving it as a pdn file didn't work.) The Bevel had no effect on the jpeg grid layer, and thus the face side of the flowers are flat. I wish I knew how to fix this.... Oh, and this tutorial was great for practicing some magic wand techniques, which is taking me forever to understand. Getting better...

Ummm It's not very well explained Add the grid to a NEW LAYER ... select with the magic wand ... then add the colour on another new layer. Then you can delete the original grid ... hope that helps

This was fun. I "borrowed" from your frame idea to make my own. Thanks for posting this tutorial.

Thanks Helen. It means a lot getting praise from people like you that do such outstanding pieces of art. I thought it was kind of gaudy at first, LOL But on the whole I like it. I want to try and make one just like that but metallized. maybe gold flowers on silver background. Alas, I work in the morning so it will have to wait!

I thought it was kind of gaudy at first, The tut is gaudy Silver on a gold will work well. I've found a way to make a new shaped flower with this technique - I'll have to add it to here Nice job BTW

thanks Welsh Blue. I couldn't have done it without you! well, without your tut LOL
I got sidetracked a little and am now making gold dingbats (snowflakes and crowns so far) instead of the flowers but look forward to more flower shapes. Please do add that tut!
