Oh Helen! WOW! I love the hearts with the magic fairy dust. Such a sweet image. I agree with what AFG said about the technical aspects of your work. I love the colours you chose - they fit so well with the image. I'd hug you if I could!

Beautiful Glossy Hearts Helen. You always make the most elegant images; so clear, glossy and eye appealing. Helen = the Queen of Glossies

Helen, I love love love this new work of art. Hearts and Glitter, my favorites LOL I hadn't looked at any of your work from a technical point, I just got lost in the magic and feeling. But after the comments above, wowser! I knew your works were awesome, but now it's twice as impressive. I'd never compete against any of you in the competitions! LOL

I decided it would be best to comment now so I won't go back and forth between the pages. I like commenting to each individually to show that I respect your kind words--that is, if time permits. If I don't do it please don't take it to heart. I read and reread your comments over and over. AFG: That's so interesting. That's kind of the thought process I do when creating my work. I love playing with highlights and shadows and also making things slightly glow. Glad you noticed the perspective of the fairy dust. That was my final touch to it all. Thank you. @barbie: There's a reason why I keeping sending air hugs your way. *big hug to you, too* Pixey: Glad you think so. One of my biggest pet peeves in art is creating something with jagged edges. I understand some people might have that in their work, but it doesn't bother me. MY jaggies bother me. venicet: Personally, I don't like competitions. I know I won't usually win, but if I ever do, the thought of someone losing saddens me. Glad you think my work is impressive. Glitter, glitter, and more glitter! Ahhhh! I love shiny things, too. @heat stroke: That was so nice of you to say that. Thank you. Leif: I know I create very similar works, but I try to add something different in each one. Different highlights, for example, are the things I try to change and probably the most difficult to come up with. Thank you.

Beautiful heart, Helen! Love the colours, and the transparent hearts in the background. It's magical!
I think of the competitions as mostly for fun, and a challenge to get me thinking in a different direction. But I haven't entered for a while - lack of motivation and couldn't get my brain going in the right direction. And when I feel motivated, I take off on my own tangent.

Your work still amazes me everything is so clean. Really like your shiny frisbee type thing the one under the orange caterpillar. Infact I dont think there is anything I don't like.

Thanks to: Blackpenny, Goon, Sargon, Minners, Welsh, and Moninca. I read your comments when they were first posted. I appreciate your kind words.
My latest work is a photo manipulation (Lance's suggestion). I know it's not perfect, but I enjoyed making it. I took a picture of my sister holding the baby mouse and changing the color to gold wasn't easy. Everything was done in PDN, just slight adjustments in TwistedBrush Pro.

Love the color and how you managed to make it look like liquid gold on the hands. Keeping the hairs on the back of the mouse was probably really tricky but you managed to pull it off really well. Great job. It can become addicting to do photo manipulations, just warning you LOL

The contrast is fabulous. Metal, soft fur, white, gold. I really like it a lot! Your mousie looks a lot my Fat Albert - still have to take some more photos...been a busy time for me.

I'm not a rodent lover - I can see how some find them cute and cuddly, but being a country boy I was never brought up to see meeses or rats as pets. Or rabbits; but my wife still goes glassy-eyed when the deceased Gizmo is mentioned
... so I can sort of see the attraction.
On the art side ... love the tones of gold in the hands ... then I totally agree with all Barbie' says about the contrasting white fur.
A very clean, neat photo manip

Nice manip, I like the gold effect, I too don't like mice but mean time don't hate them , but the one in your picture is cool. Have you noticed the shadow of the mouse on the hand is negative? It happens with me when using Mettallize and Curves in PDN.

@venice: Great! That's what I was going for (the liquid gold). The mouse was a little tricky to separate from the hands. I was going to do another photo manip (a little in-depth one), but it would take a longer time.
@bp: Thank you. I used to not like albino mice, but they're just like any other.
@barbie: I love it when you post pictures of your ratties. They're so adorable. The contrast was also one of the things I kept in mind when making this.
@welsh: You get attached to mice just like any other pet. They're very smart, cuddly, and show their affection just like a cat or dog would. And... poor Gizmo! ;D
The tone of the gold was a little more yellow in PDN, so I adjusted it in TwistedBrush to give it a more natural look. Thank you, Welsh!
@sargon: Aaggghhh! You noticed it! lol That's what I used, yes, but I didn't have that "negative" look when I used Metallize and Curves. I noticed the color change after I blended the layers.

Beautifully smooth spheres with great colours Helen. Unfortunately you`ve made a mistake with the reflections though. The reflected orbs should have been flipped vertically . Apart from that it`s great.

@venice: Yeah, they are pretty frustrating. Maybe I'll do one. Not sure yet. I'm very busy with a book right now.
@goon: That's what happens when you're working on something close to midnight. I fixed the reflections. Thanks!
