The eye is awesome. The eyelashes are amazing. What did you use to get them that way? I know I'd probably use a different method, but I'm curious as to what you did.

@goonfellow - merci Helen - thanks so much I did one layer with smudge, pulling little wisps out of a black line, and then lowered the opacity. For the more dramatic top layer (in keeping with the image I was copying) I tried something a bit different (in the past have just used line curve). This time I used the brush, at a low pixel strength, and then I used the liquefy plug-in on ‘pucker’ until the lines were ….. A little puckered ;D I know they looked a bit odd, but that’s artistitic licence for you!

You have come such a long way since you've started posting your works. Boy with a lolly ... brilliantly drawn and coloured/ shaded. Love his freckles and the eyes look awesome (but I'm biased because I think green eyes are best ) B & W Eye ... really nice shape and depth. Excellently drawn 'lashes and the subtle hint of a lil' bit of colour makes this for me Coloured Eye ... Nice use of blurs to give that eye - shadowy look and again ... great 'lashes

I really like the shape of the latest eye, very nice, also I was looking through your gallery and came across the mouse with the chute, I love the expression on their face, it made me laugh.

Great work on the eyes! I love the shadowy look in the colour one, and the iris in the BW one is awesome.
Boy with Lolly is just adorable!

I'm not a fan of Anime, but your's actually looks like a human. As I mentioned on DA, people usually draw them flat even with shadows. You drew it nicely.

I love it when some one posts a work that is unique to the forum, barbieq done it with her stained glass works and now you have done it with anime. Like Helen I would not say I am a great fan of anime but I am a great fan of good art and this is good art. I think it would benefit from a better background, but as with all my comments it not so much c&c more personal thoughts when I look at a work

Man, I have missed a lot since being away for a bit.
I love the coloured eye. I has a fantastic shape & I just love the shading. Really well done!
Abby's sister is fabulous! Anime is not always my favourite but this one is lovely. It has the most superb shading, making it look even more real. The shapes in this work really well too. I love the way you did the tattoos too.
The background could be improved but I think it serves to show the awesome work you did on the girl. Fantastic!

Helen - gosh, thanks for the comment about her looking 'human', I don't know how I did it though AFG - wow, high praise indeed ... thank you. Yup - I knew the background was a bit "iffy" and I should have listened to my instinct. I always battle with backgrounds and never know what to do @barbieq - Horray - you are back. It's been SO quiet without you (hope you had a good time). Thanks so much for your lovely comments I noted you all are not fans of Anime, as there are precious few on here, I'm wondering whether to skip them in future ;D

No don't skip them - in fact it is nice to see something different & if you like it - that is what counts.

Just because we're not fans of Anime, it doesn't mean you should stop posting your work. It's wonderful--you add something magical to your's that they come to life. Looking forward to seeing more.

I never close my ears to any type of music, the same way I never close my eyes to any style of art because there is always something I will like and appreciate in there and more importantly often something I can learn from

I agree with what everyone so far has said. For me(being a bit slow on the more modern work) have just realized what anime is.So thank you for that.Researching anime a little,I would say that you are good at it.If you enjoy doing it,it will show in your work and will always be appreciated.

I like Anime and Manga stuff. I think the fashion that some young girls are adopting to dress that way, is pretty cool You've done a great job on this ... especially the hair ... and the tats' ... and the eyes ... and great cleavage
