Now that`s a new one - being complimented in French and Greek! Go raibh mile maith agat (thankyou very much indeed in Irish Gaelic) Mmm.. don`t think I will warn you though - that would spoil the surprise!

Goon, the second part was actually in Russian. By the way, Gaelic is such an amazing language. It's like music. Russian's more choppy and sounds like we're angry all the time, but we're not.
For the most part.

Russian? Sorry, never was great with languages. I'm sure you could never be angry Helen, you're too nice.

Added the updated version. Various improvements, mainly to the shading and colour.

I'm this type of person, Goon, where I gush over an image if it's really, really good. I mean, it shows it in my face, too. The same thing here. Let me just reiterate again how much I love this new spacescape. For real, it's unbelievable!

Thanks again Helen, you seem to be the only one commenting on it here at Fans. I'm starting to think there is no point in updating this gallery any more.I will concentrate on the main forum from now on.

Sorry I haven't commented until now, Goonie. Couldn't decide on a second language to use. Gorgeous moonscape, I love the lighting. I always have trouble with that. It's like a left/right thing, something I have to think about a lot.

I am afraid I'm late to comment. I know that Fans is not what it used to be. I feel like somehow it's my fault when I was Lance McKnight. The moonscapes could use a bit more depth, I think, and it seem to be too...almost artificial. When I say depth, I mean more like 3D-ness to it. I hope that makes sense.

No worries BP, I know you are kept busy with the forum. Any language will do. I find the lighting is one of the trickiest parts with spacescapes and one of the things it is most important to get right. Unfortunately I am still a real noob where that is concerned. I look at some of the images on Google and wonder how they manage to get such a fantastic effect. Helen , don`t worry I won`t give up. It was just a silly comment when I was feeling crap that`s all. While I know what you mean about Fans not being the same I don`t think anyone in particular is at fault. I just think it goes in cycles - busy times, then not so busy.I think at the moment we are in one of the more quiet times ( but not as quiet as it used to be before Drakaan got things going again remember? Then it really was dead. ) Thanks for your comment on the Moonscape. Artificial? In what way? I think I get what you mean about the 3D-ness. Guess that is just because I have made so few space landscape images. Lots to learn that`s for sure.

Here's my review of 'Virgin Galactic':What I like: -The variety of star sizes on the background looks very real, and the fact that fade away nearer the main sun looks great! -The eye looks amazing. -As well as the planet's texture. -Spacecraft placement. What I'd change: -I'd personally make the lighting on the ship more dramatic. And that's it! Great image Goony! The star's flare is great (although maybe you could have tinted it slightly orange ;D) Keep it up

Hey there! I'm still breathing! And kicking!
Nice composition but the only thing I felt off was the placement of the logo of the company. I'm not sure if you are familiar with "Rules of Third" but if you look it up, it will aid in the composition and naturally draw the eyes to the logo. I have found that nearly all of my photographs follows that almost automatically. I think there's a tutorial on the main board, but it mostly cater to crop, but placement of main subject follows similar rule.

Yes, looking again at the image I can see exactly what you mean. Maybe locating it a bit nearer to the bottom left hand corner would have been better. Thanks for pointing that out.

Congratulations on the win, Goonie! Great image. I like the coolness of teh colours. I'm just getting caught up on comments and haven't paid much attention to the comps. I was feeling a little moody and didn't think I needed to inflict it on anyone else.

Thanks BP. I was painting the masonry on the house today. As usual Dad was keeping a close eye on things . Next thing he says to me sarcastically "come on your`re painting like an artist!". I just had to smile. I would love to be able to paint like an artist.

LOL! In a watercolour class, I was told that a wash was like painting a wall. At least he didn't tell you you paint like a girl!

New image based on Yellowmans Centipede Rose tut. I just took mine in a slightly different direction and added some ideas and effects of my own. It`s called No Name because it literally does not have a name. I just could not think of one. So any suggestions would be welcome.
