Click "reply" It is in the right side of the blue line under the last sig in the tread.

Leif, I think I understand the difference between reply and quick reply ( although that's debatable). My problem is, in the main forum I use a direct link code from photobucket to the post in question (or my gallery) then I go to full editor drop down the other styles menu and click on thumbnail. That way I don't have photobucket in the background when you click on the thumb. I need to get this ironed out before I make a mess of my gallery, and I can stop nipping everybody's head. Feeling really stupid right now, when it comes to this type of stuff I can't think outside the box.

One problem I am constantly getting is the slow loading of images from proBoard. Sigs, avs and people`s own images seem to load fine but I am always left waiting for proboards ones to finish. For example the choice of smilies above this post did not finish loading properly until now and I`m half way through writing it! The icons for centreing images, underlining, strikethrough etc. are still only two rows of text.
I don`t know if it`s a problem with proboards own servers or if there is anything that can be done, I just thought I would mention it. Does anyone else have this problem?
By the way, it`s only now as I preview the post has everything loaded as it should.

Goonfella, The forum icon images usually load quickly for me. ProBoards servers are located in Texas. Maybe the distance and routing to the Channel Islands is a factor. Dunno. ===================================== Dug, As far as I know, the Other styles > Thumbnail feature on the Paint.NET main board is unique code written by pyrochild. There is nothing equivalent on these forums. The simplest way is to copy the thumbnail code provided by Photobucket and alter it as described by barbieq25 in the Abstract Tutorial thread. (Reply #26) Here is the tutorial on that, written by Lance. pdnfans.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tuts&action=display&thread=27

I have noticed since the random banners were implemented, it caused a bit of a slow down, and I'm not sure why it does. I'm considering removing that hack and install the one that allows you to choose which banner you want displayed.

It does cause a bit of a slow down, nothing major though.

In the chatroom I have to keep re-entering my nickname every time I want to participate. Is it possible to save nicknames so we don`t have to do this?

This is a continuation of the issue I brought up in the wrong thread (oops) No worries, Chito. Your suggestion is actually good, and I do have to agree the icons for the nav bar are small than I would like. To be honest with you Lance, the icons are not really the issue. They're a pretty good size. I was referring more to the size of the lettering of the names next to the icons, such as "home, new topics, help, etc". Those are pretty tiny lol. If it weren't for me having cataract surgery just a month ago, I would've had trouble reading it haha.

Only icon that is bothering me; is that little "NEW" thing that leads to the first unread post. It has been many times i thought i clicked it, and really clicked the tread name. It is t small for my liking.

I'll admit there's some limitation to how this forum is built, but it has done a pretty good job of keeping all of us together and active.
The text, I'll agree, can make it hard to read (especially if you are using a mobile device, like a Blackberry), so I'll look into maybe creating a style sheet with a swanky nav bar and readable texts. I can't make any promise because I am usually press with time, and I might be enrolling to an online university to get a bachelor degree in IT (haven't made any official decision yet).
By the way, Chito, what board style are you using? Default, Red, and the other Red?

By the way, Chito, what board style are you using? Default, Red, and the other Red? I'm using the default skin. I tried using the other red one's, but too much red tends to hurt my eyes if I stare at it too long.

I don`t know if anyone is getting this problem but when I click on new topics the `new' button appears alongside most of the threads, but when I go to the last post it is not a new one at all. I know for a fact that some of them have been there for a while - and yet they are being flagged up as a new post.
Any idea what the problem could be?

It appears that if you reply to thread, the "new" icon disappear...I was just talking about that in the Rant thread. I guess ProBoard screwed up or something. I gotta look... Edit: other boards are having the same problem... see here

When i click "NEW" it goes to the first page in the tread. And the "new" button stays there for treads i have seen. Only tread that isn't marked with new is my own gallery. ;D Looks like some code magic couldn't handle the end of daylight savings. ( That happened last night in the EU )

You might have a point there Leif. Just as Daylight Saving comes in the problems start, but on that link to the other forum one of the guys who posted said it had been happening since Oct.10 . So there might be another problem somewhere.

Here in the US, the Daylight Savings doesn't end until November 6.
No, I'm willing to bet there's a gremlin somewhere in the database.
And, one night, as I was trying to read a board, I saw an error message for the first time with a database that's entirely ProBoard related. So, it's completely out of my hand. Just try to make the best of it.
