Thanks redeemer, barbie and Helen. @ redeemer, I am not sure which formulas are new, 1.7.7 version is the first and last one that I am using, I downloaded it jut a week ago..do you mean the d.IFS tab? If yes, then yes I did try them and got some impressive complex geometrical shapes, I mean those shapes were impossible for me to create with high quality in most of the available application and graphics, especially the mobius/spiral shapes and bars...etc. I mean shapes like this:

Dino and temple are great. Like was mentioned, getting the dino to blend more could be useful ... Not sure how to explain the "water" level issue some of these have. Basically the background becomes too flat and makes the 3D effect of the foreground disappear. The vanishing horizon or slight gradient to those areas helps. Temple is curious. The "inside a cave" look that gets created with m3d is always interesting. Almost a signature of the application in some ways. I like what you found and the color selection makes me think of Dune ... Though obviously Frank Herbert's Dune is lost on many as a reference ... Complex geometric shapes: Awesome. Those are done with the mandlebulb? Now I have to look into this for sure. I was trying last night in vain to figure out how to make a border/frame for an image based on this without hand editing or piecing it together. If its capable of those, it may work for some of the standards ... let me find a reference for what I'm thinking of ... Look at these: Algebgraic shapesWhile I'm at it, I wonder if it can render similar things to what can be done with Jenn3d ... Jenn3D is primitive but it is a neat exploration tool for a specific type of geometry: Jenn3D rendering toy for polytopes

Wonderful shapes Sargon. I never realized Mandy could do this. I might try it out again.

Ooh...the shapes are so interesting. You could probably create even more interesting shapes if you play around with Polar Inversion, maybe S3D, as well as Kaleidoscope in PDN.

@ Barbie, thank you very much. @ delpart, thanks mate, I agree exactly on what you are saying about the dino, it is actually a direct render from M3D I didn't edit to much on in PDN, as I remember just resized` it, the background is just a blue flat sky, I may retouch it considering your inputs. I like to search inside the render in M3D to find some weird interesting shapes, and the temple was one of those, those characters were actually asleep and I woke them up. ;D to pray. The geometric shapes are from basic formulas, most values were set on zero. but you can add more formulas to give them more complex effect as below (thanks Helen for the inspiration) And thanks for the links, they are awesome, especialy the names, lol I need to go to school to study/learn all the names. And jenn4D looks interesting for some architectural designs. @ Goonfella, and it does more, thanks for the comment. @ Helen, thanks so much, you inspired me to create these images, M3D actually has its own formulas similar to Polar Inversion...etc. but more advanced, and I have gotten these result: Silver: This is original from M3D: Some additional effects to it in PDN:

I'm at a loss for words, Sargon. The details. The genuine colors. Wow. The geometric shapes right in the middle of each is so brilliant!

Golly Words fail me to describe the beauty in the Silver/Copper/Gold images you have created. Beautiful is one, clever another and awesome as well. Cute Dino BTW Your work is always a joy to look at.

That looks like a fun program. Temple looks like weathered stone, and I really like the mobius shapes. The new ones look like a fancy ceiling. My neck would hurt from looking at it.

Seeing the effect with Silver especially makes me wonder if I really should keep trying to push the 3D aspects of PDN or not ... ;D Though I probably will because the illusion is something I wish to learn and PDN is helping me do it.
Amazing blend in the forumla there. I wouldn't have expected the folds to occur from the Mobius starting point in that wrap. Especially with a simple inversion.
Nice thing with fractal math is you can get folding to occur back over the top of the inversion patterns. Not just the infinite repetition, but an actual re-occurrence. It was one thing with some of the Newton formulas a lot of people would overlook. Only issue there was you had to color and imagine what was actually happening. Looks like with m3d we can see it a little more clearly now. Even if it is based on a sphere ...
Great finds.

Okaaay I've sort of sussed this out. Tonight I realised I was downloading the mandlebulb ray tracer not the mandlebulb programme itself No wonder I couldn't suss it out. Another thing I can't work out ...is where do you edit parameters

@ barbie, Helen, Pixey and blackpenny ( that is funny, just flip it in PDN , thank you very much everyone, I am glad you liked them. OK, I am sure you ganna like this one: The Virgin Pearl: @ delpart, PDN with silver effect is ok to get, but 3D with PDN is a little hard. And you are right about the formulas, they were based on a sphere mainly and another object beside, and with some tweaking of the folds, scales and shifting options and also some trial and error, I got those two results, But The virgin Pearl is just a sphere formula., thanks mate for the comment. @ Welshy, it is alright mate, I was lost in the beginning then I read/watched some tutorials, and everything went easy. Alright, today I have something different, a video music, I called it "Foggy Dawn", it is my newest, originally inspired by Goonies last work "tea for two", I know you gonna say what is the relation, the idea is not the image itself but the story behind the scene, that what I was imagining, and my brain created. And I just added the videos effect last night, and was inspired by Helen last work "Starry Hoops", mostly. Hope you will like it. BTW, I do not play any musical instrument ( I wish I could), all are ready digital loops and I just mixed them and added some audio and video effects. Foggy Dawn

Lovely job on the pearl. One thing that bugs sometimes with any of the fractal stuff is thinking I've seen it already. Had to mentioned that as it looked really familiar.
Though I like the blend it gives to being almost a coral or reef like object. Perhaps the name is influencing my perception, but it has that organic geometry seen in those formations for sure.
Love the multicolored light on it. Really helps add a nice sheen. etc. Also this one came out wonderfully smooth. No obvious glints or aliasing distortions glaring out.
Music is very subjective. I think you did well on the composition in the video both musically and visually. I can easily see what the influence was there with those dust mote sprites from Helen's work. I really enjoyed that.
So, is that Adobe or what for the effects/renders created visuals? I'm not as versed at the moment on what program makes what effects enough to tell what it was made with. After Effects and similar can create some amazing things these days. And quickly.

The "Virgin Pearl" is absolutely stunning. All the pearls seem to glisten. Maybe it's an ancient crown that was lost by a young princess who lived so far away...
The music video was peaceful, soothing even. I loved everything about it.

@ delpart, thank you so much, you may have seen a very similar to it, there wasn't a significant tweaking involved to the original formulas, the main work actually was on the colors, shading, depth and reflection. It is kind of metamorphic/volcanic rock. And I rendered a 4000x3000 file size thats why it came smooth. This was the parameter: Mandelbulb3Dv17{ V....UZ...Uk/...w....2E....dWQF8J6Dyz8bmD0J5h01E8kk6aQJJmz9ZxNs6dbUvzWDZW2g2Qjyj ................................oviIKM6EL.2........A./..................y.2..... ................/M.0/....6E20...w.....E2.....oxy1F9jBEoD/.........Uy/dkpXm1....U ./EnAnQD12../..........wz..................................u1....y1...sD...../.. .w1...sD//5zPcuRjvXzFLubusAEzCK4y2pUQLnD154G.V5gqw1gvOY/o.NAzaPYWhb04knjxVUUAYqV .x1xjEuPPjV8zAdGYuxPJ8nD......2N..............kD.2....sD..kz.................... .............oAnAr1...sD....z.lRf3.grhK.EVrO/.DSf3.YthK.kcrO/.hSf3......w....k1. ..................kz.wzzz1.U.Q6......s3....A....x2...c2....F....8/...o1....UKFr1 ...U.0aZczDM6/nzMg2czX6dE16.0c..J9uB...Fbf24LNvD.QLniVLOtz1...........U.8.UJsWB. .A72QifFjz1.M4n5/A7mz0........../6U0.wzzz1................................E.0c.. zzzz.................................2U.8.kzzzD................................. /6U0.wzzz1...................................oirb..y3q/./z/k.1A..1Ak.gyDTLLR.gdh t0UJKxIqN1.yAT2.Os5y3q/.sLM5.UaTsLM5.UTVR.UiyVTVR..y3q/.Nw5y3q/.sLM5.2qTsLM5.UTV R.kjzVTVR..y3q/....y3q/.zz/k.1A.yz1yAT2.xzpaqa9................................. Foggy Dawn is really beautiful & so relaxing. I will go back to this for sure. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
The Virgin Pearl is just so beautiful. It reminds me of a few things. Sea urchin shells for starters. I have always loved these. The other thing it reminds me of is the purses & things from the late 60's & 70's that had beads glued to them. I loved the feel of those too.
When I look at this image I can imagine going into it & there are like little caves, with more little caves & more little caves inside those. Guess that is what fractal is all about. Adorable!

Virgin Pearl is gorgeous. It makes me think of royalty. Foggy Dawn is beautiful too. Calming and mesmerizing. Way better than the visualizations that come with Windows Media Player.
