Blackpenny, even I don`t know what language I`m speaking sometimes! ;D Thanks Helen. Nice to have boggled you! Thanks very much Barbie. Thanks Sargon, I`m glad you like it, but I can`t take any credit for the lights (wish I could though!). They are from the 3D Warehouse where you can download all sorts of bits and pieces to enhance your design. The bill boards surrounding the pitch, the pitch itself and the goals are also from there. I just made the actual stands.

Thanks Oma. I know exactly what you mean about SU. I`ve had it for ages but until now never really got into it. Then I found these tutorials - www.harwoodpodcast.com/sketchupBest SU tutorials I`ve come across so far. He really goes into detail and explains everything so well. Have a look , I think it might even get you using the program! I`m following along with the series of tuts about building the small house. I`ve learnt so much from this.

As I mentioned earlier I`m doing a small house in Sketchup. It`s very much a WIP at the moment but the kitchen is more or less done so I rendered it with Shaderlight and here is the result. I`m well impressed with the way it rendered the glass table. The light reflecting off the wall is a bit bright though. (The table, chairs, window, fridge and sink are all from the 3D Warehouse. The rest is made by me though.)

Control the flow of light from the opposite wall, add a wall with a window, and see if it tone down the light bounce. I'm surprised that ShaderLight can render light. Last time I had it, it didn't have any function for light, is that still an issue?

It does have settings for lighting but I havn`t really got to know them yet so I just use SU lighting. There is a window off to the right that you can`t see in this shot where there is sunlight streaming in. I think if I adjusted the lighting in SU it might not be so bright. I`m still experimenting with this Shaderlight plug in really - SU as well!. I also downloaded Kerky again . I might try taking the same shot and compare the two. Kerky just crashed! Again. This is the second time this has happened. I imported the SU file and before I could even do anything it went. Never got on with this program last time and it`s going the same way again this time.

Great view Goonie, I like the camera angle you choose, are you planing to do the whole house, that will a good experience, what a bout adding some appliance on the countertop and table, I forgot it is a WIP, I can't wait to see final image.

Never got on with this program last time and it`s going the same way again this time. Goon, did you see this sub-forum at their board? There's some good suggestion as to what the problem could be. Read through and try some suggestion. One suggestion I would have is to move the ShaderLight out somewhere on the hard drive and see if it doesn't conflict with Kerky.

Yep , I intend to furnish the whole house and add a garden. I`ve done the patio and some areas for plants. Don`t hold your breath though - it`ll take some time! ;D
Thanks Barbie, I was impressed with the glass as well.

I wish I had a kitchen like that. If this is just a WIP, what will the final image look like? Excellent work.

Thanks Barbie! Sorry Lance I missed your post last time! I`m not ignoring you - really I`m not! ;D I looked at the forum and had a nose through but couldn`t find anything. Maybe I didn`t look hard enough . I prefer Shaderlight anyway because it renders inside SU so you can see how the image will look and make changes without having to export and open another program. I just can`t work out Kerky. I`ll keep it for now though but if I find I don`t use it , it`ll have to go.

It's no problem, Goon. Just a shame because Kerky is very powerful.

Update on the house. Here`s the back garden so far. Displays are very square I know but I just tried to keep things simple for this one. Post processing in PDN to add the sky and clouds and adjust the lighting.

Sometimes keeping things simple is the hard part and I love what you did here. It looks spacious and beautiful.

Kitchen is awesome! I think the window is too low. Maybe raise it? And the backyard is just...wow! You are amazing with Sketchup.

Thanks Helen, Chris. I actually tried doing a more rounded display but got into a right mess . Windows are at the standard height - 3ft above the floor. The units are also 3ft high so what you see are just cut outs so the backing doesn`t cover the window. Too late to start adjusting their height anyway. It would be a lot of work and they would end up higher than the others so it would look a bit odd.

I love the way the shadow is over the chairs & table. No lawn either - I always threatened to concrete the backyard & paint it green. I love the urns & the tiles. I think it works well. I can see me sitting out there with a coffee & having a chat with you.
