Lance I think you have to have the paid version to be able to increase the detail and AA settings. I`m still learning the program so I`m quite happy with the default settings anyway. Chris the biggest tip I can give you is - be more careful with your tea! ;D ;D As for TG2, best thing is just to continue following the tuts as they are far better at explaining how to use the program than me. Which ones are you using? I have found some of the best are on the Planetside wiki page - www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php/Main_PageOne of my favourites is this one - forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=7733.0 Just keep playing around with the settings and don`t be afraid to change them either or add extra layers like water. Just doing this can make the image look totally different . I would practise with the lighting as well. As you can see from a couple of my images , it can make a big difference. With my Evening Sun , in the Lighting > Sunlight 01 node I used 300 for the heading, 0 elevation, 0.825 for the colour, 1.59271 for the strength. I was just playing around when I tried these settings, made a quick render and was stunned at the outcome. You could try these settings as well but it would probably come out different as there are so many different variables to account for. By the way,if you figure out how to add trees, vegetation etc. I would appreciate the help. I still can`t work out how to add them in. Welshy , that`s one area where I know I would never succeed! ;D Glad you like it Sargon.

Down to Earth could be near here, somewhere in the Rockies. That is amazing!

Down to Earth is amazing, like everyone says. I cannot believe it is not a photo.
It is a very pleasing image with all of the elements working in harmony. Very peaceful. You've done a great job with this one too!

Blackpenny,Barbie, Heatstroke,Helen - thanks very much. I just wish I could figure out how they add trees , vegetation etc. That is one area where I am totally confused. I`ve looked through tut after tut and most of them just say `add your trees in here' or words to that effect but none actually say how to add them!

Well that is a bit of a bummer. I think it all looks great without them. Still it is frustrating.

I am fairly certain that you have to download a vegetation pack to add trees and stuff. I dont think they are free though. But I may be wrong, I got this info a while ago from a friend that had TG2

It is frustrating Barbie. I`ve registered with the Planetside Forum to ask for some advice. Heatstroke you do have to download them and I have done that. There are a couple of free plant packs available on the download page of TG2 and I`ve just seen a post on the TG2 forum offering up a load more. It`s getting them in my images that I`m having trouble with. Thanks for the links Sarkut. I`ll have a good look at them, especially the tut you found. Pixey I struggle to find time myself. I don`t like leaving PDN alone to concentrate on another program so I tend to share my time out. I also have Sculptris , Sketchup and the Gimp. Five programs! I must be mad.

Well I might have worked out how to add them but actually making them look half decent - well that`s another story! I think I know where I`ve been going wrong though. I`ve been setting the scale too small and the distance between them too close so instead of a forest of trees it looks more like a green carpet! ;D. So many settings to deal with .Think I`ll follow a tut or two to see how it`s done properly. And yes Barbie it did make me VERY happy!

First image with some trees called appropriately - New Forest. After much farting about with settings I finally arrived at this view . I wanted to add more grass clumps and a few rocks but the free version restricts you to only 3 objects . I can only render at a maximum of 800x600 as well and have to use the default detail and AA settings . Never mind.I can still make decent enough images. Hope you like the latest one.
