They are all nice! But the grass really adds to the piece.

They're all so nice, I can't pick a favourite. They could be different times of year, or even times of day. The first one makes me think of early morning.

As a change from TG2 I decided to add a few space pics I made in Gimp. These are not new, it`s just that we did not have a Beyond PDN on the other forum. Hope you like them.

To me they look spectacular! Love the lens flares & the ring on MiniSystem. Deepspace Nebula is awesome for the colours but the central star could end in finer points - very hard to do, I find. Farspace is just so atmospheric & the top & bottom black borders enhance the feeling of vast distance. Also on the first one & the last one putting the name of the work on the image is a classy touch. I love the way you did this & the fonts chosen.
A great job on all three!

Very pretty space pictures. I admit i fall for the one in the middle because of all the pretty colors. And the planets gives it a great "depth."

Yes, they are all really very good space images. I'm with Leif, I really like the 2nd one - because of the colors

DeepSpaceNebula is , a photo shot by Hubble, the nebula is superb. The FarSpace is amazing, I can feel the deep depth in this image. MiniSystem2 is so beautiful I would say it is a photo, too, but sorry again and again to say this, if you could center the sun in its halo and Saturn in its rings, great work nevertheless mate, please don't get me wrong mate I just love your work and when I see something needs to be fixed I feel guilty if I don't tell you, and that is also with everybody here.

There you go - I didn't know that & I would not have thought of what Sargon said. It is the little things that sometimes make all the difference.

Thank you all for the lovely comments. I`m glad you all liked them. Unfortunately I no longer have any of these files anymore. I finished these images some time ago and I have a habit of deleting old files and just keeping the final image to save space. I don`t really need to as I have plenty space to spare, it`s just me being Mr.Tidy. Once again I live to regret it. Barbie I`m glad you like the rings. I used a different method for the rings this time to make concentric rings. Most ring tuts just use twist at high settings but I`ve never been happy with this method as it is not very realistic. If you look at the rings around planets they have bands of rings, which this method shows really well. Got the idea for the black bars on dA. It`s amazing how just adding these makes so much difference. Leif.Pixey,Helen,Chris - thanks . So glad you like my choice of colours. Sargon - praise indeed! To be compared to a Hubble image is most gratifying . Thanks very much. You make some very good points about Mini System though. I had not noticed the rings not being quite centred. As for the sun, well that`s a lens flare from within the program and it comes like that. Not a lot I can do to that I`m afraid. But if I still had the file I would definitely take your advice on board and adjust the rings.

I love your gimp works! Although the two stars in Farspace still bother me.

Here`s a stadium I built in Sketchup. Rendered using the Shaderlight plug in.

You did that in Sketchup? Shew! Shaderlight is a nice plugin. Mind sending me the SKP file via PM?

Yes Shaderlight is great. Works with SU8 as well . I tried IDX Renditioner before but it couldn`t find SU on installation. Apparently you have to have v7. So I tried Shader instead which installed fine and works a treat. Only thing is that I`m using the free version so I`ve only got 12 more days access to the full program. After that I can`t render anything larger than 640x480. Still it will be OK for my needs.

I had Shaderlight before, and I thought they had two verisons, one free and another paid. Jeez, they say it's free, but here's a limit...
That's why I really like Kerkythea Rendering System. The interface takes getting used to, but it's pretty powerful. I'm sure I have only scratched the surface.

I have tried to use Kerky but I just can`t get it to work on my Win7 laptop. I think it must be something to do with the fact that it hasn`t been updated since 2008 .

Maybe I`ll give it another go then. Could just have been me. OK, downloaded it. Seems to work OK but I don`t have time to play with it at the moment. Another piece of software to learn!
