Welshy, funny!
LJ, Welshy is so right. Practice...
Also, when you cut out an image, try using AA Assistant, Feather, Smooth Blur, Surface Blur & Gaussian Blur. Sometimes you will need to use a combination of any one of these & sometimes it will be just one. This is when CTRL + Z becomes your best friend. You will get to know what works & what doesn't.
At times I still have to experiment to get the images as smooth as possible.
PeterPawn & other wrote some great tutes on Alpha Masking. I still struggle with it but I think I get the hang of it. Basically on a new layer with the brush or line tool you colour the parts of the image you want to keep black. Then add a new layer & make it all white. blur the black layer a bit & merge the black onto the white. CTRL + A, then CTRL + C (to copy the imge to the clipboard). Then use the alpha masking plugin, under effects. Make sure you have Paste From Clipboard ticked. You may have to play with the other settings too.
I hope PP will put up the tute for it. Very good info.
Please ask if you need any help - that's what we are here for - to learn from each other. You've done great so far.

Nice sig. Only thing I would pick about is it has some jaggies.
I like your current because it is so simple and is sorta glossy looking. Good work on all of your work!
If you follow barbieq's advice, you can take care of the jaggies.

Great news sigs! Like Helen said, much improved.
As Peter Pawn rightly noted, the ways of working in sigs can be used in larger images too.
Both of these sigs would make great wallpapers!
