Thanks Sargon and j.d. Sorry I'm slow about replying, I'm either still tired from my cold or just lazy. You decide. The more I use BlendModes Plus, I see what the different modes do. And then I click on all of them anyway until I get something I like. And then I click them all again because I forget which ones I did like. So it's a lot of trial and error, mostly error. Edit: I haven't done much new (finished) work lately, I'm working on a project which may or may not see the light of day. Meanwhile I posted some tutorial work on page 1.

he Viking Helmet is fabulous! I love what you did with the background. Very fitting. The glossy orbs & the lace are great. Madjik's sig is fabulous too.
Great takes on the tutes!

BP - yes, great results on the tutorials. Like you mentioned in another post, I too am finding it difficult to keep up with everything at the moment. I just love that 'orb' tute but I've yet to try the lace one you have up there ......... it's stunning. ;D

Thanks barbieq, Helen, Pixey, and j.d. I have notes on the lace pattern, and I'm attempting a tutorial. It's a fun challenge, explaining something that makes sense to me so other people can understand it!

Thanks heat stroke, BR, and Manc.
Manc, that was not my first attempt at the glass orbs. The first couple were pretty pathetic.
Also, the Perspective plugin has changed since the original tut. I had tried it with the first version, then I went back to it after the next version, and thought I was losing my mind, until I saw a couple of posts about it. So if you didn't see that, try it using Vertical Trapezoid instead of Vertical Perspective. Makes a difference.

I had to have a couple of goes at the Orbs Tute too...not that there was anything wrong with the tute...just me losing my place all the time.
Nothing wrong with having a couple of goes...anytime you have a problem following one, just ask. Every one here is only too happy to help. You are never alone...

Thanks Chrisco!
I often have to do tutorials a couple of times to really understand them. And the first time I'll do it 'by the book', exactly as the instructions say, then I'll play and add my own touch to it. I'll also go back to them after a while, because I've learned new things I can use, or I can use something from that tutorial somewhere else. I'm always learning here.

I haven't seen your shaped gradient works, but I want to say how cool they are. I love how they looks metallic.

The rainbow text is so pretty I love all the colours. I've done your lace tut once already, for which many thanks, but need to play with it a bit more before posting. Of course your results look far better

Thanks Sargon, Helen, Welshy and Pixey! Welshy, I'd be nowhere without you and the others who write such great tutorials. ;D Pixey, the first lace pattern I got was a fluke, but I did write down what effects I used, although not the settings. I went through it a few times before I had a good example for the tut, and I've had a lot that don't look so great. It really is a matter of fiddling with effects, and I'm still not sure what to do specifically to get a result you want. At times I've thought different things work better, like the number of colours in the gradient, but they don't really. So all I can say is, keep playing and have fun!
