kkkk Interested in all kinds of image warping and the math that goes with it. Like conformal mapping, complex numbers and fractals. Never have enough time for all this. Need time stretcher plug-in. mapperx

Hey Mapperx, great to see you here too! Please send the link to the time-stretcher plugin ASAP! ;D So if I need some help with maths I can ask you?

Hi Lance,
Just introducing myself-did I do bad? Came from PDN as Nooby and came here as Nooby2. My interest is images and the math behind and hope to give and get. Am I in the wrong place?

I don't know where the four K's came from-I didn't put that in my post if somebody is wondering.

Mapperx, I know a lot of people see math in images (think Escher). I just couldn't understand your post.

Mondrian was also a mathematician. By necessity there is a lot of maths in art. Golden rectangle is another example. Looking forward to exchanging ideas with you Mapperx

To Lance Again, Doing Paint projects takes me a lot of time and just added a little humour-a "time stretch plug-in". There must be fancy math say behind the polar inversion code-I don't do code but like the math, that's all. What's to understand? (I still don't understand where the four k's came from) mapperx

Ah, now your post made a lot of sense now. So you are interested in the math part of the programming language. Pssh, I am not a programmer at all, and I would be the worst person to try and explain anything to you. Sarkut is probably the best one here or you could talk to some plug-in authors at the main board if they are willing to explain to you the "algebra" behind the code.
BoltBait once tried to explain to me how one of his plug-in worked, and I replied to him, "It is as clear as a chocolate pie on the back of a wet elephant."
Anyway, welcome to the forum, and I hope you enjoy yourself here.

Ok, thanks everyone. The "polar" ref looked like 2,4,6 pick up sticks but thanks anyway. I'll try and go directly to the plug-in author if I want info on techi stuff. Meanwhile I'll cruse members art to see what's there. Already I can see very nice detail but I'm to impatient to spend a lot of time on one project. Give me patience and give it to me now!

Welcome mapperx.
I hear you on not having patience. And my brain may glaze over when the conversation turns to math, but there's math in everything and I use it more than I realize.
