I love this type of work, there is no right or wrong with them, the only limitation is the artists imagination. I think the crow on the rock is the same one I used when doing the photo-manip and I like the hedgehog peeking out from the grass.

So sorry to be late on commenting on your last three pieces. They are fabulous , but I especially love the flowers, which are so colourful and pretty. Great work on each one

@ Welshblue, thank you for the encouraging comments. This was a first for me . It took me 9 weeks on and off to complete .A really big learning curve, and only touched the tip of the iceberg. @ afg,you are right about imagination but learning how to get what you want through opacity, blends, highlights and shadows is great but I am still finding hard work.Still I don't think it would be as much fun if it was easy. @ Pixey,no need to apologise I am grateful you take the time when ever you get the time.Much appreciated. Again thank you all for taking the time.

This is eerily amazing! Great work with setting up the images and making it look like it all belongs there.

@ afg,you are right about imagination but learning how to get what you want through opacity, blends, highlights and shadows is great but I am still finding hard work. This might help If you download the wall thumb into PDN. Add a new layer and use the "clouds plugin" (black and white) Change blend mode to "colour dodge" (clouds layer) Now take the eraser, areas you begin to erase will become darker, by altering the opacity of the layer also adds to the effect of shadow as does using Brightness/Contrast. hope this helps

Great work on the, Nocturnal Haven, you have arranged everything very well, but just can't figure out the source of the light, I am sure you have something in your mind about the light, still very nice, I like it.

@ Helen, thank you for your comment. That was the atmosphere I was hoping to create. @ afg, thank you for that tip/technique,I know what I will be practicing today.Cheers. @ Heat stroke,Sargon. Thanks for the encouragement.I hope I have the patience to do more of this style of work.Sargon, the tip that afg. has given me, hopefully, should help me with my light sources. I know I have a bit of a problem there. Thank you all for taking the time.

Great work! I see more elements every time I look at it, they're all put together so well..
I know I don't have the patience for that kind of work. Or the attention span.

Cheers blackpenny for the comments and taking the time. The way I have to do this kind of work is over quite a long period of time.Usually in between working on other pieces, that way I don't loose interest and give up.

Dug, getting the light source right is a real bug-bear for me. I agonize over it all the time. I like the image just the same. It is dark & moody but also for some reason, a happy image. I like this a lot.

Dug, I like that...sausage rolls! I've been thinking about the poem Kubla Khan. There is a commentary on it & it starts off with Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll. I want to sell the idea to my students. I think it would make a very cool T shirt on black.
Way to go Dug!

Barbieq is thinking Kubla Khan, I'm thinking Ian Dury and the Blockheads and the font has me think Sex Pistols, love barb wire running over it, it's a great work to look at and it really gets you thinking... I would defiantly wear it on a T-shirt.

BBQ. Coleridge a great poet. Like Carroll,Swift,Huxley just to mention a few, liked to dabble in mind altering substances. which I think made them very creative and before their time. I am not sure your students need to know this information, afg,Yes you would be right in thinking Ian Dury. well read and clever word-smith. He will be sadly missed. Anyway thanks for the comments. This was my first try at grunge.
