Goonfella, thank you very much, someone also, mentioned same thing about the rocks been so smooth on the vid tut , Yeh, that was me! I know I know, what a horrible name! Don`t know what I was thinking of when I chose Net2holic! Wish I could change it. I guessed it was you right from the start so I subscribed to your channel. Nice vids mate. As for the diamond and the brooch. Both are superb. The brooch especially so. The diamonds in that one look super realistic and don`t worry about the gold being too thick. I think it looks great. Must have taken an age to do that diamond, but the time was well spent. The result is fantastic.

Sargon, omg thanks so much ;D I have family in from out of town this week, but as soon as I can I"m going to sit and play with this diamond! I had no idea how to even start a diamond that had more than just the top face. yayayayay!! You're awesome!

Very pretty brooch and diamond Sargon! I think I started that gem tutorial. Maybe someday I'll finish it. Thanks for the hint on making rust. I found a tutorial on the main forum and I've been playing with it. If I get a satisfactory result I'll post it.

Wow. That diamond looks great. Yes, i can see that the gradients must have been quite time consuming. But you really got a tremendous result.

I think you have done a wonderful job on both pieces. The time you took to do the gradients has most certainly paid off. Well done! The brooch is a lovely piece & very realistic.

I know you have said that you feel the metal is a little bulky but I think it fits because you have kept it thin depth wise and the design is not to intricate but has a nice flow to it. The diamond is dazzling, great attention to lighting detail, wish I had a bag full of them

@sargon: Going back to the underwater image, how'd you create the wavy textured sand for the sea floor?

The diamond looks pretty damned amazing. Very clever way of making it. You think so outside the box that I would love to be inside your head for a day. You've been such a massive influence in my PDN progress by planting ideas through your tutorials; I don't think I'll be able to thank you enough Scorpion brooch ... looks more like a crab I like the chunky metalwork, goes great with the diamonds. @ Helen ... @ a guess I'd say he used clouds, noise, rotate/zoom then Alpha Displacement ...

Goonfella, thanks mate, nothing wrong with the username, it is just fine. It took about 30 minutes just to do the gradient cause I got used on this technique, but if you try it first time you need to manage the direction of each gradient. venicet, thanks, and you're welcome. blackpenny, thank you very much, well I saw your attempt on rust effect, it is very nice. Leif, thanks so much, I believe it won't take that much time, but my problem is I don't have patience, I get bored so quick when it comes to repeat same thing so many times. @barbie, thank you very much for the nice words. AFG, thanks, you will soon have a bag full of real ones. Helen, welshblue almost summed it, but with totally different ways of using those effects, the exact method is this: 1-Clouds: size=100, roughness=0.4 2-Clouds: same settings, but Negative blend 3-Splinter Blur: Splinter=50, Distance=10, Mode=Darken 4-Splinter Blur: repeat once same settings 5-Displacement: Y Distort in %=10 6-Displacement: repeat once or twice as liking with same settings 7-Perspective: Ratio 2-bottom or right=3.5, with Vertical Perspective Mode 8-select the whole layer, start from top knob and squash it down to about 2 thirds of the canvas height, then pull the bottom edge beyond the canvas to hide the bad edge. 9-Noise: Intensity=35 or as desired. And to tint it, I usually use Sepia then duplicate and set the blend mode of top layer to Multiply and adjust its the color with Hue/Saturation. I may forgot one of the steps, if you don't get same effect, then please tell me I remember that added another Clouds layer on top and reduced the opacity very much. I just use black and white then tint the work later. BTW the water (ceiling) is the same method but blue. TheBad1, you did mate millions of times with your nice words, don't worry, I am so glad that I can help, but stay away from my brain, one crazy one is enough. It is crab Welshy, I don't wanna reveal my sign .

Thank you Helen and Pixey. Some excessive use of Shape 3D, I missed the handle on top

My aunt had a very similar clock and with NO handle, so I think that some clocks are just made like that. This is so cool! I don't understand how you can do things with S3D. Way too complex.

Looks great. I especially like how you made the back leg. Nice reflections all round. S3D is invaluable innit ... and this image has just confirmed my thoughts as to one of the artists in the WOTW comp

Great clock Sargon. I like the choice of font for the numbers.
It`s interesting that you chose that time for it. We sell clocks at work and one of the tips I got from a friend who used to work with them was to always have the time so that the hands are pointing upwards. Then they will seem to be smiling at the customers . Apparently if you have them pointing down - at 7.20 for example - you will sell fewer. It`s all about the psychology of selling.

Man, I love that clock! Flawless work...handle or not. I love the text & the pointers esp.
Goonie, I didn't know that but most of the clock I have seen have that time.
Brilliant work Sargon - such a pleasure to view!

Love the clock Sargon. I have tried a few things with S3D and know how difficult it can be to get something just right! It's a great program, but takes a whole lot of practice. *for me anyway* LOL Always a pleasure to see new art by you. I also had no idea about that time being chosen on clocks. I rarely notice stuff like that anyway. I'm not all that observant I guess.

Until i read that you have used Shape 3D, i thought this wasn't made in PDN. Excellent work.

Great work Sargon - it looks realer than real!
Well you learn something every day! I heard that clocks have the hands at 10 and 2 to frame the logo, but the 'smile' makes sense too. Can't do that with digital clocks.

@ Helen, thanks, you are right I just checked there is some without, and I attached the PDN file if you or someone is interested to see the layers. @ WelshBlue, thanks mate, don't vote on it, " that's why the digital clock is 10:08:00, check Goonies notes"@ Goonfella, thanks, you are right about everything you have mentioned, I know that too, and thought it is something common and everyone knows, but looks like not. @ Barbieq25, wow flawless, great to come from you, means a lot, thank you very much, glad you like it. @ venicet, thanks, glad you like it, and yes, S3D is so powerful, by practicing it will be easy. @ Leif, lol thanks it is actually 100% PDN, thanks so much @ blackpenny, woow, thanks for the great comment and compliment, lol funny you have mentioned the digital clock, took me some time to figure that out on another project, wasn't sure what time to put in it. Nice job, Sargon. I remember those clocks. Boy, are they loud! When it goes off, it will wake even the dead from their sleep.

Thanks Lance, lol you are right, I hate the alarm anyways, usually I use my phone to wake me up, and I change the tone every few days, I found this the best way to me so I don't get depressed from the same sound.
