Greetings everyone,
I was wondering why nobody is in the old forum.........
I never used any social networks, such as facebook, twitter.....etc. (I signed up for an account but never used it) However, I am just trying out Google+ now.....like JUST NOW! If anyone wants an invite, PM me with your email. I'll try to be as quick as I can. Be as you wanna keep in touch with me, or just wanna try Google+ out to see what all the fuss is about.
**Before you start, I ask you to be careful of what info you share on the internet...check all the settings in google+, make sure you are not sharing anything you don't want.**
Who knows, maybe this social networking could turn out to be a good way to keep in touch. I am asking in PDN fans first, I will be asking in official PDN forum maybe a bit later.
Best regards to all of you.
Ash

What exactly is Google +? I heard of it, but not sure what the purpose of it is.

Ash! Great to hear from you. I`m afraid the old forum got very badly spammed so everyone moved here. Helen, I believe Google + is their answer to Facebook. It`s a social network but you need an invite to join - hence the post by Ash. I have always been wary of social networks for the reasons stated by Ash. I consider this forum to be my social network . I don`t have many friends anyway, mainly colleagues from work so it`s not as if I need to join one. I have all the friends I need right here. But if everyone else decides to try out Google+ I`ll give it a go as well.

It was great to hear from Ash again & thanks Goonie for the explanation. I'm with you on this. I have Facebook for the sake of my kids, otherwise I really wouldn't bother since like you said, most of my friends are right here.
Ash, thanks so much for thinking of us first. At least I understand the threads by some on the main forum now.

I too am on FB but, to be honest find it mildly annoying, so am in no hurry to join a similar-like forum. But ............... is this the ASH? The one with all the amazing PDN work? I'm hoping he will consider joining-in on our new and improved PDNFans site and I, for one, can't wait to see more of his work

I used to have MySpace, but never used it. Then I got Twitter, but never had any real use for it, so I deleted it lol. I then decided to get facebook, but even that I hardly use and I'm still getting used to it. Now Google wants to eventually force us to use this new "Social Network" application? I too wasn't too sure what it was until just recently a friend of mine "invited" me to check it out. So I too wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I accepted, but after tinkering with it a bit, ended up thinking that there's nothing to really do there that I'm not already doing with facebook. It basically just Google being, well...Google. Bottom line, I'm probably going to end up just keeping the account, but not going to use it as another form of networking....at least not in this point in time, but that's just me...

The people i keep in touch with on the Internet are all on forums. For family and friends i use telephone, or something old fashioned like face to face. ;D I am not the kind of guy to put a daily update of my situation on the net. And i don't have the urge to find old friends. So G+ would only be another way of communicating with the same people i already talk to on forums. So i don't intend to use that kind of websites unless something new come up.

Yeah, I took a closer look at it and I'm not too drawn in by Google+. I already have Facebook (to keep contact with the authors I work with) and visiting another social networking site will be too much for me. I hope Ash will visit here more often.

FacelessBook ... haven't got an account. Nor do I want one. Too many people feel the need to put the most inane statuses from what I can gather from the rest of my family who are all avid users. Plus the viruses
Twitter ... again, no account. Pretty pointless IMO ... but if people enjoy leaving messages for 'celebrities' and being ignored. Good luck to them
Google+ ... Ash very kindly gave me an invitation and I'm hoping to get to grips with it this weekend. It's a nice experiment to be in from the very beginning
Thanks Ash

Keep us posted on what it`s like . I`m like you Welshy - no FB , no Twits account or anything. Why bother? But if G+ is any good I might give it a go.

Google+ seems OK at the moment, just too few of the PDN guys joined me. I like G+ because, I check gmail, google reader everyday, and on the top right I can see if anyone left a message and what not, much easier if you are the type who uses many google's services.

No Facebook here either, I had an account and deactivated then deleted it. My life is not that interesting that people need to be updated on what I'm doing, and I don't need to be that connected. Plus I'm paranoid about using my real name on the internet, and I doubt anyone is looking for me. Geez, if they haven't kept in touch in this long, why would they all of a sudden want to now? Unless someone wants to leave me a significant amount of money, and I don't think that's likely. I'm more likely to join an antisocial network, but that would be an oxymoron.

I have a Facebook, but rarely use it because most of the crap people post is useless and a waste of time to read. I use Twitter only to see when updates for programs, movies, and things like that release. I may give G+ a try though.
