does anyone know how to get rid of the lines in the gold? it's distracting on the child particularly, although it's on the frame as well. I"m not sure where I'm going with this, but if I can't get rid of the lines then I'm not going to bother finishing it.

That is quite normal. It looks like you used bevel and then ran Curves. Maybe a simple Gaussian blur at 2-4 pixels will lower the edge a bit.

If you mean the horizontal lines in the gradient ? Run Surface Blur. You'll have to play with the settings

You guys are both God's!!
Welsh, that did the trick! so easy and now I have an idea what surface blur is!
Lance, now that you mention it, i did run that bevel a bit high for the girl outline. I was using Sarkut's gold metal tut for this and thought if the object is bigger you needa deeper bevel. I'm going to do that part over again at a smaller setting. Glad you misunderstood me!
Now to figure out what to do with this and finish it! LOL
