I see red, reminds me of those masks that sometimes is used to symbolize theater. But the red hue makes it really interesting. Invites you to look for more details. Great work. :+fav:

Leif, thank you. Your comment put a smile on my face for sure. I love those masks for the theatre. Thank you Helen. Glad you like the faces too. Chrisco, I like that one the best of the two as well. Possum pointed out that maybe there should be less rings on the Oceanus one. I think he is right Another 2 new ones on page 1.

Superb work Barbie! I really like Peony. The colours are great and I like the way you have got them to `glow' . Beautiful. I think your work just gets better and better. Well done.

Peony: reminds me of MacIntosh deco which takes me back to Scotland where his work and influence is everywhere.

I love the two images. The "Redlining" image is awesome. It looks like the middle part is made of liquid. Nice choice of colors, too. "Peony" is just fabulous. It's glowing, sharp, colorful, and very pretty. Great work!

I never saw "Peony" on dA < that's why I hadn't commented in this gallery... The whole thing is stunningly beautifully. It looks so simple, but I'm sure a lot of thought went into the making of it.

Redlining is a result of spending too much time on eBay looking at glass art (& buying some Murano) as well as looking at the process of making glass. I like your "liquid" comment Helen. Means, I've achieved the look I wanted. The Peony motif is an embroidery pattern. Painstaking line tool since I don't have a tablet. The pattern could lend itself to so many things but looking at the Japanese Chokin (eBay) plates inspired what you see. Dug, I've done a few pieces inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. A Fleeting Glimpse put me on to him because he is a Scotsman too. It opened up a whole new world to me. Dune Deco was inspired by CRM. & CRM Tasseled Rose . Lance, nope they are not yet on dA. Still getting around to it. Wanted to get some more gardening done today & as soon as I got the spade out to plant the strelizia's (Bird of Paradise) & the striped ginger plant that I just bought, it hammered down with rain. All of the current uploads have taken me a long time to complete. Some of the works took a long time to do, while others just took a long time to know how to proceed. I've got a few more done & I'll upload them probably tonight. Thanks you everyone for your encouragement & support.

Thanks PP, Helen, Chrisco & Heatstroke. I am pleased you like my works. I try something different every now & then, esp. when we learn a new way of working through tutes. New 2 page 1. The Nautilus one was really hard to get the tears just right. I did something with the layer blend mode for the tear in the eye & then could not recall what I did because I got interrupted. In the end it worked but still don't know what it was. How could I forget? Oh well. I love nautilus shells & the Great Barrier Reef suffered a lot of damage with the floods & cyclones we had. Scarab beetles are just so interesting...

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Like I mentioned on DA, the scarab image has both the Oriental style and Egyptian. Don't know if you did that intentionally, but it's great.

One of my fav creepy-crawlies the scarab.that and praying mantis.Nice one. I like all the nautilus pieces but just before I enlarge the image to full size I think of a Paisley pattern ,yet another bit of Scottish history, although I think the original design was Persian.Dune Deco and Tasseled Rose amazing.CRM would be proud.

I kept looking and looking at what you did with Madjik's tut. Wow. It's a beauty! I am admiring the swirling, striated shapes. The jewel is gorgeous. And the sparkles. What a great touch!
