He, he. I wanted to try make some kind of advertising poster. Kind of simple with only a few colors and a simple message. So this is it. Just for fun. Hope the zoo don't mind ;-) Reference photo was one of my own. Look in my photo folder on DeviantArt for some of the others, if you like. Why the Copenhagen zoo? Because that is where the picture was taken All made in Paint.NET. Hope you like it.

Leif! I love going to the zoo. Copenhagen is far away, but I think it is very beautiful there. I love your works. It is so very very nice. Thank you for the sharing.

Well I think it is extremely well done. Lovely sense of movement from the bird and you have done a super job with the feathers. I would be chuffed to bits with this if it were mine. Well done Leif.

Can't make up your mind about what? I can tell it's a magpie without even seeing the title. (Sorry - I still have some smart-ass left over from the weekend calligraphy class.) I love the colouring. All it needs is my dog chasing it and it's perfect.

Thank you for your comments. The point is a was afraid i had put in way to much details. I have this tendency to just want to go on and on adding things. What i wanted to do about the magpie is to have a little something in the background. But i don't know what yet. (Not a dog chasing it ) I am actually trying to force myself into making pictures a loot simpler by looking at the old Art Deco style. Something like old advertising posters. Buuut, that has other challenges. ( In modern days business language, you must not say problems. You have to say challenges. )

Not quit sure this is all correct. There actually WAS a Grand Prix at Roskilde Ring in Denmark at that date. In those years it was possible to have a race that did not count in the world championship. A race just for show. The winner was Stirling Moss. But i am not sure the Lotus actually participated. ;-) But the fake poster was just for fun anyway. All made in Paint.NET with a bit of raster from a scanned image of an old book

Love the Bird By the way But, this poster is amazing. Did you use outline selection on the car? I can never get it smooth when I try to use it!

I had the original picture in one layer, and a transparent layer over that. Then i could do good old fashioned line drawing with the beizer line tool using the original picture as reference. Glad you like it.

That's really nice, Leif. I like seeing your other works besides the vexelly-vectory images. But do not be dismayed, I LOVE them very much.

But if nobody liked it, i would stop posting it. ;-) So i would not consider myself an attention seeker. But it does mean a loot to me that people like what i post. .

If it's not fun, why bother doing it? Your work is fun to look at too.
The poster looks very 60s-ish. I really like the lettering in the title, and the gradation of the background.

The Zoo one is perfect. The minimalist look works really well & the giraffe looks very happy too.
Your bluebird is very pretty. This new style of working with the adverts is really refreshing but reminds me also of the 1950s. Way cool.
