Fantastic, just fantastic. Great work on the shading. It really makes it come alive. Hair is also very well done.

Great job with the shading, Helen. I just wish it would be easier with PDN, and maybe when the new brush system comes out in v4.0, it might be easier.
It was fun!

Really nice pieces all of them. I will have to look a bit more into these graphic tablets. The not pressure sensitive with PdN. kind of puts me of. I am still sketching and scanning, which is not too much of a hardship.Anyway very impressive work.

My goodness - just a "quick outline" has such an impressive result. I must look into this Xara software But I suspect your amazing talent had a lot to do with it too

As noted on dA: I like the lines you used. The look on his face is just adorable! I want to give him a piece of cake just to cheer him up. Well done Helen!

I love Xara software, but I haven't used much of it just yet. Thank you for ALL your lovely and supportive comments.
This next image is done with Paint.NET, TwistedBrush Pro, and probably a third one, as well.
This book will be an e-book and will hopefully, be sold as a hard copy later. This one was exciting to do because it's a chapter book and similar to the Magic Treehouse series.

Absolutely fabulous Helen! Like Welshy says, there is so much detail in this image, right down to the little cobweb under the table on the left. You could look at it for ages and still keep finding something new. Great stuff.

What a delightful, sunny and happy child's bedroom scene. It's so warm and inviting. Love the detail; every corner with its own little story. I like the magic rope with the note

No matter how well an illustrative work is drawn and painted if it does not tell the story it fails, this passes A++. Looking at it I know I'm in a "Junk" room, a room where things are put because even though they are no longer used, you just cant bring yourself to part with them. I know that a young girl is involved here who has possibly grown into teen years or adulthood and I also know there is a treasure in there....... a "magic jump rope". Beautifully done Helen

Looks very professional. Really makes one think about the wonderful mes there is in some children's rooms. But maybe they kind of thrive best in a mess like that. ;D Great use of texture in the wood and also the shadings that sort of lifts it all out of the two dimensional world. Great work.
