Thanks Barbie & Lance. I agree with you Lance about all the reflective surfaces. I think the main culprit is the polished metal background/floor. Needs toning down a bit - or changing for something completely different. As this is just a practice piece though I`m not too bothered. It`s the glass I was concentrating on, which seems to have come out quite nicely.

Excellent work goonie, the last version is superb, a photo quality image regarding everything in it, the glass, textures, perspective, light/shadow, reflections and the background is just awesome, I really love everything in this work, you are doing very good with Blender, great job mate.

New project in Blender - Underground Carpark. I am following this 5 part tut by Rex Harby - blendernerd.com/underground-carpark-part-1/It`s not as easy as it seems. I have scrapped one effort already and started from scratch. There are parts in the tutorial that you really have to find out for yourself because he does not say exactly what he is doing, which I think is great because it helps you to learn more than if you could just copy everything he did. It is up to pt2 now so I thought you might like to see how it`s coming along. The lighting is temporary as it will eventually be lit up by the lights in the carpark.

Woah. Blender's a tough program (I think I mentioned that before). I really like this carpark. That would be so awesome if you add cars, but then again, that will be so much extra work.

^I know. Blender was like Physics for me when I first took it.

That looks pretty darn good. If Blender is like Physics, I think I'll just stay away from it. Then again it depends on the teacher. I had a really great Physics teacher one year, got he highest grade in the class. Next year, different teacher, I almost failed. Don't really have a point here, just something that popped into my head. I should probably have kept it there ...

I know what you mean. I was lucky. I enjoyed Physics and had a good teacher . Still only managed a C though. There are some great teachers of Blender , which is why I have managed to get this far. Andrew Price on BlenderGuru is my fave . He does a Focused Critique each month where people send him their images and he `critiques' them and points out improvements that could be made or places where they have done well. While you don`t actually learn to use Blender in these you do learn things about lighting, modelling etc that you can (hopefully!) apply to your own images. Take it one step at a time and once you have got over the fact that there are so many settings , Blender is a great program to use.

The Carpark is a great Blender work Goonfella, photo realistic. Great progress with the program mate, I have tried Blender before but my brain never picked it up, I don't know why, something wrong, either in me or in the program, I also have the same problem with GIMP , I think it is time to upgrade some chips of my brain ;D. because I am sure there is nothing wrong with the programs. I really enjoy your blender works.

Sargon, Barbie, Welshy - thanks very much. A couple more for you. A bit of texture practice really. The first in wood and the second in gold. -

Wow! Great work.
I'm not the least bit tempted to try Blender. I doubt I could ever be that good with it.

Sargon, venicet,BP,Bbq, Helen - thanks for commenting. Sargon - I`m looking forward to seeing how you get on. venicet - glad to hear it. I`m sure you`ll have fun. Bbq - I`d like to use the vases in a larger image sometime. They do look nice. Helen - what can I say in reply to that? Thanks very much. ;D Here`s the latest bit of modelling practice - BugZilla. The textured background was added in PDN . -

You liked my comment? I actually said, "Yow."
About Bugzilla, I am extremely in love with it. I like the shadow that's being cast behind. The hypnotizing bluish color is amazing!

Goonie, I was hoping the gold vases would pop up in a larger work. I can always make room for them in my wall unit I love the bug zapper one...ours is busted. I like the reflection on the wall & the blue glow too. It is kinda spooky too. You are amazing! I cannot get my head around these other programs but always such a pleasure to see your efforts.

Thanks Helen and Barbie, glad you liked it. Barbie , I`ve got other projects going on at the moment but I have the vases available for when I need them. What is great about Blender is that you can `Append' your image with a previous one. But instead of having to import the whole image you can just import the bits you need. For example if I just wanted to use the gold texture of the vases I could just use that without having to import the vases as well, like being able to import specific layers from a previous image in PDN. Very handy.
