I agree & a big thanks to everyone & esp Lance for setting up the new forum so we could all stay & play together. I'd be devastated if we lost each other. Thank you everyone for making this place so great & that includes the old hands as well as the new

Aww, you guys! I can't take all the credit for this. Do I need to remind you that Sarkut and Welshy helped a bit? Thank you for the kind words. It means a lot. I couldn't have done it without y'all being here too.

Speaking of Sarkut, I hope he is ok. So long we have not heard from him...

Helen is our new Queen. That makes me so happy!
An astounding number of us here were either nominated or won an award. I agree, that is cause for rejoicing. Well done to all!

Okay my Internet is being flakey since mid-day (that didn't help) but in between outages I finally found the awards list. I even got listed somehow as a newbie nominee ... Scary. I'm sure this was just being inclusive but I found amusement in that. The good kind of amusement. Like when you find a bit of high count coin laying in the gutter ... Including link to this list for others who maybe dont frequent that side of things: PDN Mainboard Forum AwardsStill reading through it but I figured I should say something quick in case I lose my connection and cannot resolve this forum again ... Congrats to everyone. It seems I'm in good company. **EDIT: as a side note, I didn't venture into the grand theory much, would have been great to have a reminder post to engage the absent minded and such ... ofc now that I'm a little past my super cold feet stage, this is all hindsight. and not meant as an injury to anyone ... just a simple wish that I had known I could vote it up. Darnit. A

Helen, Queen..!? Sounds familiar to my ears, ohhh, yes you where already a queen, queen of glosses, but now we upgraded you to a Queen of PDN, congratulations and really you well deserved it. Welshy, congratulation again man. And Barbie, you too, congratulations, I am so happy that you won the Big Bird award, well deserved on both. Possum, Dug and sarkut, congratulations on the awards you guys too. And Delpart, we are so happy to have you here.

Delpart, I have both forums set up so that it goes by default to the newest threads. Bolt Bait did remind us, as did others but I guess it really depends on us checking for new posts. Guess with all else that was going on we really should have made mention of it here. Next year, Delpart, I promise!

Congratulations to all who both won an award or were nominated for it. To tell you the truth, it came as a pleasant surprise for me to see I was chosen as "Queen." And it's quite interesting that a lot of the winners or nominees were from this board. Keep up the great work all of you!

I recall now the problem I had with view new content on the main forum ... Its seemingly random on where it's cut-off point is between visits and often dismisses items when returning to it too quickly during a session. Hence my bad habits there. (Common curse of those things in various forums is missing content because it doesn't show up with those sorts of filters. And without being an admin, no way to tweak it ... I dont see settings for the feature in my account preferences either. Argh.)
Just mentioning that as I had to remember why I wasn't using that feature on the main forum. Though even the off chance it will work is probably better than not using it ...
Righto. Congrats again, this isn't a rants thread after all.

Thierry Henry, the returning hero, scores the late winner to put us through to the next round of the cup. Fantastic!! Some amazing stats - with 12 minutes left he scored his 12th goal against Leeds in his 12th game against them wearing the no.12 on his shirt in 2012. Now that`s what you call written in the stars. To see him celebrate by running over to Wenger to give him a hug was awesome. Such a shame we will only have him for 2 months before he has to go back to America. I just hope he inspires the other players into action.

I bet he felt right at home mate, especially as the trophy cabinet hasn't changed that much since the last time he was a Gooner ;D But they are actually quite spooky stats ...

Trust you to mention the trophy cabinet ! ;D
At this rate it will be the same for quite a while unfortunately. Henry was the only player who played well on Monday. It was the usual struggle with the others. I hope this does not paper over the cracks and convince Wenger we don`t need more players because we do - and good ones . Not the cheapo makeweights he likes to buy.
But at least I can enjoy the next two months.

Can`t stand the `S' word either mate. Just not cricket old chap! ;D
Animation completed. Camera movement completed. Just need to do the lighting and rendering and it should be done. Can`t wait to get home from work tomorrow to continue with it. I`ve really enjoyed this project . I`ve already taken it into PDN to see what I can do ( not the animation - the static model). Nothing saved as yet though.
Don`t know how long rendering will take, quite a while I think. The 6secs one in the tut took half an hour to render and mine is longer - about 10secs. Plus his was just plain grey, mine is textured. So I`ll have to wait until I`ve got plenty spare time to do it.

SOCCER - It's your own damn fault its called that from what I can tell ... ;D
"The word "soccer" originated as an Oxford "-er" slang abbreviation of "association", and was popularized in the late nineteenth century by a prominent English footballer, Charles Wreford-Brown.[5] This origin is evident in the sometimes-heard variation, "soccer football""
