Some people travel around the world to see famous sites. And some of us just live a short distance from them, and never bother. Today i vent for a long walk those places. ;D Found a grave. I am sure most of you will recognize the name. And a little fellow who lives in the cemetery. And the Copenhagen planetarium, shot from the lake side. Enjoy.

Leif, that is very cool. The lake & fountain are beautiful.
As a child I loved the Hans Christian Andersen stories.

Nice paintings - massive size. I am always amazed at how artist can translate an image into such a large size when I cannot see the whole.

wow, awesome! I love wall paintings. Can't imagine how hard they are to do. The planning alone would stop me from ever finishing it... or even starting ;D

You are lucky, I am jealous of what you guys are seeing around you, so beautiful views. Not too far from place where I live there is a city called Palm Springs, and when you are heading to the city driving in the 111 highway , you will see this view on your right, a tramway (cable cart) take to you a 8500 ft mountain for 4 miles cable: But on the left side you see this view, lol, hundreds of windmills (about 3000 ones) "turbines" to generate electricity, I call them white palms, funny the name of the city is Palm Springs, the sad thing is there are so many dead birds on the floor because they hit the blades:

Sargon, I loved the 1st picture. I love living in the mountain because of unsurpassed beauty that is found rather than the man-made island of the cities.
As for the windmill farm, that's pretty cool, and it's unfortunate for the birds, but which would people rather - renewable energies or paying out of the nose for ridiculous high cost of electricity?

Awesome pic Sargon. I remember going in one of those when I was a child over the Rocky Mountains in BC. We have so much scenery here that it's easy to take it for granted and not notice until someone comes to visit and comments on it. But then I think that is normal, as I lived in the city of Niagara Falls for a year, and even that lost it's majesty after seeing it so many times.

WOW. That mountain picture is just wow. It must really take your breath away first time you look at that scenery.

Wonderful pictures Sargon! I live near mountains too and I love going there with people who have never seen them before.

Stunning images! I can only stare in wonder. So huge those mountains but the panorama is just as breath-taking. Thanks for taking the time to share.

That is my worst nightmare! I can go up on these but coming down on one requires a death-grip on me, someone behind me & someone in front.
I do like the image just the same.

This is quite a shallow escalator too. I wonder how you would manage some of the deeper ones ? ;D (apart from getting off at a different station

Great picture nitenurse. Escalators freak me out a bit too, I can handle them if I don't look right at them, just enough so I know where I'm going.

;D Actually a photo manipulation. I replaced the sky behind the buildings. Despite the red star and Chinese signs, this is in Copenhagen.

Odd I would have sworn I tagged this thread for the neat pics. Looks like I did it in my head while hitting the "like" button again ...
So true about not visiting things close by. I was always amazed that some people had lived in Arizona for decades or in some cases seemingly longer without every wanting to visit the Grand Canyon ... Of course that's what led me to believe humanity was doomed if such marvels within a few hours drive were not worth the time for so many.
That recent grab of mixed cultures would have had me guessing very incorrectly without the notation. Amazing what can be found.
@nn: One of the like tags ... Solid shot on that. I'm always amazed that people can live indoors, get into vehicles, etc. but the mere suggestion of "subterranean" brings out some genetically coded phobias in so many. I guess that would be an art deco cave. ;D

Delpart, my phobias are trauma induced. An early childhood mishap & a mid-teen misadventure. I also cannot crawl under a bed to retrieve items. Elevators & cars are fine - they have doors! Nice capture & manip Leif. Hubby has made a life-changing decision to quit his extremely stressful job that sees him working about 70 hours per week & then too stressed/tired to spend any quality time with his little family of me & our 4 fur kids. This could see us exploring more of the wonders around here. There is a fab pottery place I would like to see not too far from here. www.nobcreekpottery.com.au/
