I have made a decision to post responses as they come in & not worry if I double post. There are so many encouraging comments that should be responded to & not wait until I have new work.
I got a stack finished off today. I have a bad cold but it will get better. As many of you are aware I was sexually assaulted at work. I work in a all male prison as a teacher & I love it. Most of the guys have a lot of respect for the teachers & I rarely have a problem. The offender got an extra 6 months for his trouble & I was awarded restitution (I doubt I'll ever see the money though!) To make matters worse, the female court reporter saw fit to publish the event in graphic detail - bar my name (thankfully!). My boss is currently investigating this. The correction centre is not able to help me but they are incensed that a reporter could be so insensitive. So that kinda explains where my head has been at.
Now on to more important things - thank you everyone for your most encouraging comments on the collab & other works.
It was indeed an honour for me to work with Welshy. I miss him but I am sure he'll be back when he can. I hope all is going well for him.
Possum's had a bit of a rough patch too but looks like things are getting back on track for him too.
As always I appreciate your comments & feedback for improvement.

Sorry to hear you`ve had a bad time of it recently. Hopefully that`s all past now. All I can say about your new pieces is - outstanding! The Nautlilus ones are good but my faves are definitely the Zebra ones. I really really like Eye of the Zebra. The colour of the gem compliments the black and white perfectly and that texture is gorgeous. Well done Barbie .

I also like the zebra images, so well balanced and color scheme too, a bit different from the rest of your work, really great work! Hope you get over your rough time soon .

Yes, guys, I am quite over it except for the nasty cold which we know will last about a week. First couple of days are the worst. Helen feature both Peter Pawn & me, putting our images side by side. What struck me was the similarities & the differences. PP has branched out to a different way of working & I have noticed that with others too, that we take off in another direction. I did not intend to make another jewel from the stripes but it came about while testing out ideas & seeing the cover of a book that got me thinking in a different direction. Eye of the Zebra is a new direction for me & was born out of the Cognitive Dissonance image. Hubby found the shapes pleasing & he did similar shapes in his younger days as an artist. Even when I did a lot of work with the sign vinyl there were striking similarities in the shapes & patterns we worked in but his work was on canvas. I also found that some of the vinyl work was very much like Mondrian's work despite never having seen his works before. Guess it is true that there is nothing new under the sun Thanks Goonie for your lovely comment. Sometimes we like to work in what we know & other times we like to try something new. You are a great source of inspiration. Always trying new things. I like that a lot. Ella, your comment made me happy because sometimes I struggle a lot with balance in an image.

Barbie, you don't need to worry about structuring your images. All are superb! The latest ones are just grand. I especially like the zebra pattern-like designs. That was just clever.

Aw, thanks so much Helen. As noted on dA, it is the help we all get here that makes such a difference to our art.

More great work! I like how the jewel in Nautilus as Nautilus is peeking out from the curves. And the jewel in Nautilus Window is a nice soft colour. The zebra ones are cool. Eye of the Zebra is like fabric, maybe a scarf with a brooch on it, and I love the gold. I like the spiral shapes In Cognitive Dissonance. The jewel looks like one of those flat-on-one-side glass marble things, that you see in craft stores. (I have a pile of them and don't know what they're called! I'll use them. Someday. Really.)

BP, yes, I know those glass things - I have them too. Sometimes I put them in my pot plants for decoration or put them around my other glass displays. In the previous house, I found a stack of them when I dug a trench to stop the water coming into the workshop. Guess that was my reward.
Actually a few times now I have found items while gardening. A couple of weeks ago I found a hexagonal, very lightweight silverish dish (aluminium, I suspect). Not the prettiest thing on earth but I like how it polished up & there is just something sweet about it.
I can see the scarf & brooch but I had not thought of that. I was thinking of paper. I like your idea better ;D
I'm glad that there is something you like in each one. The Nautilus as Nautilus was tricky, for me at least. I had to think back on some of the advice given here - the gold chain tute/youtube got me there eventually. I know they have nothing to do with each other but it is a process. That is why sometimes, even if we don't get the outcome in the tute, or just read it but not do it, we learn something from each other. Advice might not be directed at us but as my sig used to say "knowledge is no burden to carry".
Thanks too Leif. It certainly is not as dark as some of my pieces but there is another dark one lurking ;D

Eye of the zebra, Cognitive Dissonance, and both of your new nautilus artworks are amazing! Great job with them! I really like the depth in Eye of the debra!

One thing to bear in mind about Steampunk, the style always incorporate some elements of pipeworks, steams, and old antique parts. Google some image references and you'll have a good idea what you need to do. I think this is a style you could explore further.

Good idea Lance...I'll have to look more closely at the images & see how I can work them into what I am trying to achieve. Knowing what we want & being able to get it onto the canvas is very different.

This is my first look at your gallery here. I have been sitting for about an hour really enjoying every piece. It is good to relax and look at nice works. A slideshow function would be handy then I would n't have to move even a finger. BRILLIANT.

Yeah, I can.
It require you to activate the slideshow feature in Photobucket, and I can add the hack for the tags.
Edit: I have thought about that before because I thought it would be easier for me to display my gallery rather than to display individual art works.

But how does that work if I have made all of the folders private? And do they all need to be in one folder?

Great new adaptions of Nautilus ... but bravo for Cognitive D' and 'Zebra. Really, really top notch stuff. Both would look equally great in my newly decorated hall way
