*sigh* Mods. Mods. Mods. I'm just glad we have the nicest ones on this board.
Being in the Galleria is a nice thing, but it doesn't mean your work isn't great if it isn't there.

One thing my head can't take is if this board becomes an Us vs Them place. Hopefully we're all here to extol the virtues of Paint.NET ? I agree, Welshy. Everyone, lets talk about something else other than to complain about the main board, all right? We got a lot of PDNing to do, and so little time to be moaning about what could be better.

Well, let's all be grateful that most of the mods bring us some wonderful plugins. I was glad to see pyrochild win the award for the best of 2010, he definately deserved it. The mods are great people, we will leave it at that.

Absolutely. I thought Liquify was just pure genius and voted for that one.

Everyone, lets talk about something else other than to complain about the main board, all right? Agreed. Rick must be well averrer of the situation. (He can even be reading this) It is his forum, and jugging by his attitude i think he has the forum he wants. Each person then has the option to use the main forum as he or she sees fit.

pyro's plugins are great & I actually like him despite the aforementioned. He'll turn out ok.
He has a lot on his plate too with study & all.
Speaking of his plugins, I think I saw the gradient blur in the pink flower that Blackpenny did. A very nice outcome with it too!

Yeah, pyro is okay. He can be pretty funny too, there was one reply to a tutorial that really cracked me up. It's others who have been not so nice, but some people are like that.
Thanks barbieq! I don't know what plugin I used anymore, or who made it - I think it was Shaped Gradient, but my head is a blur this week. There are so many great plugins, and I admire all the people who make them. I couldn't even begin to understand how it's done, I just hope they keep 'em coming.

I don't know how they do it either - I am able to code in C#, BASIC and HTML. But I tried to do a plugin, but it was too hard to understand for me. I am so glad we have people who know how to do it.

The fist thing i started doing on a PC was to play around with codes. HTML, Visual Basic, C++. But i dint have any real use for it. No prospect of doing no real work on it. So i lost interest, and started doing other computer things. (And here i am : ;D )

I understand programming, I even have a diploma in Electronic Data Processing, but it didn't take. It's pretty useless now anyway, since I graduated in 1982, but I did learn some programming languages. I started playing with HTML a couple years ago, then I wanted to make a background image, so I got into PDN, so here I am too. ;D

Wow, this was a lot to take in. It took me hours to read it all. Well, I was watching a couple of football games, took a nap, worked on my computer........
Some really great comments from everyone, some valid complaints and some inspirational advice as well. I just think that like in everything, you get out of something what you put into it. Sometimes not as much, sometimes more. Sometimes you don't even know until later what you did get out of it. Yes, it's a strange, sort of dysfunctional kind of place, but we do get a great deal out of it and it costs us nothing but the time and energy we put into it. I know it has changed my life for the better for getting involved there. I hope you all will just try to give something to the community that you are getting something from.
As for the mods, I really don't know them all and don't have that much interaction with them. So far, most of them have always been nice to me, but I know others who have not had the same experience. Pyro has always been really nice and helpful to me. I can't thank him enough for giving me the chance to host the comps and to just pretty much let me do what I want with them. It's been a lot of fun.
As for commenting on people's works, I try to get over there when I can and comment on people's work, but I also realized that I should also do the same for the plugin developers as well. For some of them, that is their piece of art. I'm going to try to do that as well this year.
Glad to see this place up and running. I'll try to get here as much as I can. I'm going to try to find more balance in my life this year. A little bit of this and a little bit of that and try not to give anything up. We'll see how that goes.......
Happy 2011 everyone ! I hope you get what you need out of this year and some of the things you want as well.
