I'm with leif on this one. I think that you should maybe outline the sun (planet...) and maybe make the background a little, teensy eensy darker and the top left a little lighter--it will bring it all out more. This is a stunner!

Thanks Leif, Helen, and Chrisco. I'll see what I can do about outlining it. it is hard to change anything with the star/planet now because that is in the 3rd PDN file. But I am willing to try. Darkening the nebula sounds like a great idea. It will bring out the top left corner more. Thanks again everyone for your help! Oh, and I really dont know what I want it to look like. Supernaove, eclipse, black star... All of them?

Black star CD cover. I took all your suggestions into consideration, but I ended up taking that "star" out. I think less is more with this one I submitted it and will hopefully get an email on the verdict soon. I tried to upload it into Photobucket, but it was taking forever (3 hours, just like DA) and it never finished. I finally gave up and settled on a lower resolution version. But I will not spend that long to upload it into photobucket. heatstroke99.deviantart.com/art/Wish-Upon-A-Black-Star-Cover-199122017

Thanks Helen and Barbieq! I might upload some smaller portions to show you all what actual size looks like. There are a lot more details than turned out in that version.
Thanks Ella! The star thing was just too much. The more I looked at it and messed with it, the more I hated it. I really didnt want to take it out, because I spent so much time on it. I tried the suggestions I got here, but I bit the bullet. I think it turned out pretty good though!

I like it, especially the "Epic Text" part. lol, that made me laugh! But I feel it is a bit empty. But that is probably just me.

Thanks helen! This is actually a small part of a larger WIP that I am almost done with. I am sort of putting the other three WIPs that I posted a few pages back on hold for a while until I get some more inspiration. I dont know if I like the way they are going. But anyway, thanks for the comment! Thanks Chrisco, and like I said on the main forums: I really had no idea what to type there, so I just went with "epic text"! I had full intentions to change it before I was finished, but never did. I thought the empty-ness was a good thing for this one... But maybe I could have added more. I'll keep this in mind for the larger wallpaper version. Thanks Barbieq! I tried to keep it open, im glad you like it! Thank you Leif! hopefully the larger version will be just as good. update: Tinkering around with effects for the wallpaper version of the "epic" sig. I tried to make this look like a star expanding. Dont know if I achieved that look or not. 100% PDN. Oh, and I hate planets... they are extremely hard to do.

I think you do a great job with the planets. You will get better & enjoy it more with time as you will find new & better ways of doing them as I did with the jewels.

I don't know what an expanding star looks like, but this looks pretty good to me. I like how it goes from bright to dark.
