We have a few bayans (button-accordion) at home HERE and the "Water Cooled" looks like the part of it, but flipped onto its side. So amazing! You did an outstanding job on "Toothless!" Wow! And "Intermadness" is beyond words--cliche or not, but it is. Wow!

Many thanks everybody. I've been a bit lax in updating. Apologies. I was pretty pleased with how the Incendia image turned out ... I should stop being such a puritan and import more stuff into PDN, because they do tend to have better finishes to them 2 images on Page 1 shown before on the main board ... Fizz ... meant to be more of an abstract than realism. Everything about the 'can' started out from the torus tut, with some Point Warp thrown in for the 'tab' Anyone remember when ring pulls on cans could be used as lil' flicked flying machines ... or is that showing my age ;D Enjoy

Wonderful image! I do remember the old ring pulls & making them into chains. I miss them! Love the red with your image. Gives it that edge.

My favorite thing to find in the middle of nowhere when hiking is the old pull tabs. Its amazing how long those little bits of old aluminum composites hold-up and what all the critters etc will do with them over the years. Found a pack rats nest in northern Arizona (long abandoned mind you) that was simply chock full of those and some other great stuff. Though the ones I find in places where I dont expect other people to have been always make me wonder. Cirtters or was someone actually there and left a calling card decades before ... ;D In some cases it could very well be, since following mining claims and such on ridges etc can be thirsty work. And lots of them haven't been touched for more than 20 years. Long before the age of ubiquitous plastics and such. There. It evoked an essay. I think that's probably enough to say about that.

I do remember them too, and prefer those than the ones of nowadays, they sink into the drink and contaminate it , but it all due to the environment. Great Image welshy, I can see three styles in it, you forgot the final Radial blur on the top.

Great images Welshy. Fizz is excellent. Unfortunately I am old enough to remember the old ring pulls as well. I like the way you have adjusted the colour of the orb to suit each catinthecradle image. Good attention to detail.

I'm always amazed at your work and the latest pieces are simply astounding. I couldn't believe the detail in the 'knobbly' thingy - Intermadness, I think it is - what a result indeed. And, oh yes, the pull tab on the cans ....... how I remember so many breaking off and having to attack the can with various implements in the kitchen Great work Welshy and @bp is so right about improving on older pieces as one becomes more experienced as time goes by

@ Helen ... many thanks The plan (one day) is to make it 3D ... with a future plan of hopefully making some fizz @ BarbieQ' ... many thanks I tried different colours an only red seemed to do it for me. I'm always surprised at how only some colours will work in an image @ Del' ... many thanks I enjoy reading your essays. They always cheer me up. Sometimes evoking a flashback or 2, because you've got a great way with words. @ Sargon ... many thanks I knew there was something I wanted to finish on it. I couldn't see for looking. Now you've mentioned it I can see the rough finish in the Point Warped layers @ Goon' ... many thanks The weird thing is mate the differences in the orbs must be an optical illusion ... I haven't changed them. I've got to agree the brassy one does look a bit darker. The wonder of colour ? BTW ... I haven't wet myself lafffing at the Champions League result yet because I'm totally unsure which Blues team will turn out from one match to the next @ Pixey ... many thanks InterMadness ... Incendia is a powerful programme. The texture used to colour the shapes is an imported PDN image. I should use/ learn it more but my impatience for things to render and having to manage time means it's a special treat now and again ;D B'Penny is right. Until I read her words I've always felt it was 'cheating' . The cynic in me coming out. I'm my harshest critic ... @ redeemer and B'Penny ... many thanks I'm replying to you both instead of individually because the message is the same (plus my hand is hurting ) Glad you enjoyed them Again. Many thanks to y'all. ------------------------------------------------- Anomaly ... playing around with my torus tut. All textures from the same starting point with some Polar Transformation and SinWaves applied. . Information Highway ... using different sized toruses ...

You know, "Information Highway" is one of those works where minimal is better because it looks amazing the way it is.. I really like the atmosphere to it. And "Anomaly," ah, I can't get over the beauty of it.

Less is more of course. Definitely evokes movement and the spacing of a lane marker ... Even if I'm probably on the wrong side of the road when thinking about it. ;D
For those glints what did you do there? I've got the usual plugins etc but I've been finding most of the time nothing matches up with some other Adobe product results ... Too much comparing there in my head, but when you want an apple, the constant blue oranges can be confusing.

Cheating? Nope, otherwise I would be too. Sometimes we can take an image further when we see it with fresh eyes.
Latest is so pretty. Lovely blues - the background is very cool! Like a black glitter duco...still thinking about what I want for my bike. I really like the swishing blue with the stars. I like the way you did them. The whole image is a relaxing kind of energising if that makes sense to you? Very nicely done. Wonderful eye candy I am seeing today ;D

BTW ... I haven't wet myself lafffing at the Champions League result yet because I'm totally unsure which Blues team will turn out from one match to the next Now you know how I`ve felt all season! ;D I half expected us to be beaten so it came as no surprise when we were. Just a shame for Henry, it`s not the nicest way for him to finish at the club. I prefer to remember him scoring the last minute goal that won us the match last week. I think he will be missed, even though he was only there for three months.

I've been a bit lax in keeping my gallery here up to date due to things behind the scenes taking my attention. Poor excuse but the best I've got ;D Many thanks to all who commented 4 years of using PDN and I can still only muster a fairly decent spacescape. Goon'Inspired after his April Fool's Joke. Started after reading the thread and being totally lost for words ... you really had me going, mate

Don`t know whether to apologize for what I put you through or be chuffed that I managed to fool you! ;D ;D You underrate yourself my friend. That spacescape is superb! I love the lighting and the glow of the nebula. And the intricate border is a nice touch. Not a lot wrong with this . Post Mental Modernism ( where do you get these names? ;D ) is another excellent image. Great 3D effect and it looks so complex. I would have made the metal shinier though but that`s just my preference, not really a criticism. Great work on both.

Well, I looked at the metal one one & thought - NO WAY! but then this is Welshy's work after sall so anything is possible. I really like the shapes & the glass bit. Way to go!
The spacescape is just drop dead gorgeous! Like a view from a room. It is perfectly wonderful! Well worth the wait. We know how hard you have worked on the forum so it is ok to not have posted any new work in a while. At the same time you are producing at a fairly steady rate. I wish I had more time.
Back to the spacescape - I'd love it as a mural on my bedroom wall. It makes me think of dawn in space. Well done!
