Thanks everyone! This was a fun experiment, and interesting to see what happens with different combinations. Most of the backgrounds were plain at first, but I thought they were too plain so I dug some stuff out of the archives and messed with them some more. I could try more blend modes, but I'm kinda tired of looking at dingbats for now. I wasn't sure about this one: i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/blackpenny/PDN%20gallery/dingbat_glassgoldcolour.pngI thought the background could have been softer, but I left it, and I'm glad I did. Welshy, I don't know why, but your link comes up 'page not found'. I hope Photobucket isn't messing with my pictures again.

Those dingbats are so beautiful, I too like them all, and the backgrounds as well.

Blackpenny, love all the dingbats and backgrounds! I love making things with dingbats too. I have so many things in gold and silver just waiting for an idea to use them!LOL This one is my favorite....http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx274/blackpenny/PDN%20gallery/dingbat_goldcolour_2.png I think it's the flame look of the dingbat and the faint glow of the same color in the background. Great stuff!

Thanks guys! Cool tutorial Sargon. I'll do it and some of the others later, maybe after the weekend when hubby is back at work. Or when the next hockey game is on TV.

Thanks Pixey! The tutorials I used are Sarkut's Gold Metal, Ella's Glass Text, and Sargon III's Glassy Metal Text. I did Sargon's video tutorial too! Didn't too much different. I started using different shapes a few times and kept getting interrupted. Once by hubby installing a second monitor, so I can have a tutorial on one screen and Paint.net on the other. Way cool!

Great 3D effect there. Really looks like it is popping out of the picture. Nice combination of gold and the silver background.

First off, I really like the word, "Squirkle." It sounds so fun to say. And your works are all stunning. I love what you did with the Textured Shapes tut--nice outcome.

What a great way to kick off my me time this weekend. All great images but squirkle jumps out the most. Awesome colour. Not sure if it's batting eyelids or expensive silk lingerie I see in it ... Squirkle warp ... stunning. Again great colours, textures and composition (although I can't help thinking a lil' bit of shadow is needed behind the centre piece ?) What you've made with the kaleido tut makes me feel pretty proud ... not that I wrote it; but that it's been used in such a brilliant way. As is the torus one. That's clever ...
Brilliance ...

Thanks for kicking up some dust from those. Love the Looney Toons nod. That's one of those things I see every time I make a ring. Though I'm still trying to figure out why I dont simply make things like that ... Methinks thats a talk with a shrink. ;D
Glad to see someone playing with Swqirkle as well. That's been a huge time waste for me as I get lost in seeing fractal-like geometry with it, then nothing comes from it really. I like the way you've actually used it to create some polish and solid form.
Impressive still on the WB tut outcome.
Like the previous postings, I'm a bit awed at seeing so many familiar transformations done by another hand.
A most welcome update actually. While I dont lay awake at night, I do pine (errr, that sounds creepy), uhm, wonder what people are doing. Without nudges here I tend to put aside PDN or lack inspiration.
Strange day, back to work for me I think. Getting the post in before I forget to say something from my first impression basket. Otherwise it always comes out dry it seems when I wait.
Uhg, now I'm not sure what I was getting on about. I think I like to get lost in text as much as I do with my virtual paintbrush lately ...

BP, what a wonderful batch of images. My most fave one is the squirkle one & I agree with Welshy. The glass ball in the centre is a very nice touch. The txtkaleido is great with black & white - very dramatic. GridGrad is always an eye-pleaser. The Looney Tunes one is so well done - hubby must be pleased!
A very happy way to start a weekend - I agree! Well done BP!

Helen - thank you. I like saying "squirkle" too. It's such a fun word. And a fun plugin. @welshy - thank you. I had such fun with your latest tutorials, and at the same time I downloaded some new plugins, so it all came together. You would pick Squirklewarp as needing something more. *lol* I "lost" the PDN file for that one and all I remember besides using squirklewarp is I started with MadJik's shapes plugin. If I still had it, I would definitely add some shading. Note to self: don't start renaming files with one open. @ delpart - thank you. I love Looney Tunes, there's so much stuff I laughed at when I was a kid, and now I'm grown up I understand it. It is interesting seeing what other people do with the same plugins and techniques. We learn so much form each other. @barbieq - thank you. Yes, hubby is happy with the picture. It was his idea, and I had just done the tutorial, so it worked out well. Again, thanks everyone!
