I do have the Adblock extension in both Chrome and FF but I have tried browsing the site with Adblock disabled and still had the same result. Ironically the one thing that did display was the ads!
I`ve already had a word with my ISP and they did some checking and they had no problem loading it on their own computers so it`s not a DNS database problem either.
Which leaves the blacklisting of the site. I agree that something on this laptop has blacklisted the site. I`ve looked in Avast and there is nothing to suggest it has done that. I use the firewall that comes with Windows so it`s unlikely to be that.
My router does have a firewall as well so I`m wondering if it could be that. I remember the problem with dA and they said they had to move some peoples accounts to different servers or something like that. Maybe that`s the problem as well.
Anyway I`ll just have to ignore dA for now . I got on fine without it before and I`ll get on fine without it again.
Thanks for trying to help though Possum.
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know. It's problems like these that really bother me. We have had some networking problems at the office and only one of the IT guys believed me. He stood there and watched what was happening and saw it for himself. Then he was able to replicate the problem so he knew it wasn't me that was the problem. He has tried everything for months and things would get a little better but for the most part remained a problem. Finally he decided to have one of the guys completely bypass a router that the other IT guy installed and poof, the problem disappears. I had been saying that it was something they did all along, but it took one guy who believed and months to prove. Stubborn asses.
