Hey guys, I just installed an MP3 Player into my web browser I am developing, so I have been testing songs on it. I have listened to tons...and it got me thinking, what is my favourite song? I have to say my favourite is Empire by Queensrÿche. It really sounds like what is going on today in the world. It makes me sick to think about it. -- So what is your favourite song(s)?

I'd have to say Soft Rock Star by Metric.

That's like asking how many grains of sand on a beach ... Mine changes from day to day and mood to mood. I can go days without watching TV, but never without music Todays is this after spending time making my will & testament, after trying to sort out my fathers mess of intestate ( I know it's a hymn and I'm an aestheist, but just in case ... ) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo-jq3eOFVU&feature=related

Anything by Cage The Elephant for me. They went to high school with my brother which makes it really cool.

My favorite songs would be Halleujah Chorus and Trading My Sorrows. I realize both are Christians music, and I grew up as a Christian. I only heard the former song at a symphony (with hearing aids), and that song just stuck in my head ever since. The latter song is my favorite, and that's the song I'll sing to myself when I'm feeling down in the dump.
In fact, I have already made up my mind at my memorial service, I will have the Halleujah Chorus played at the conclusion of the service. Never hurts to be prepared.

I wish their new album had more of the country-ish sound, like their first album. At least they're better than they were as Perfect Confusion! Have a nice day, ~Sidneys1

Halleujah Chorus huh, Lance? I am a Christian (I am the son of a Baptist pastor) as well. I love hymns. They are always so peaceful and relaxing. Good to see another one on here.

Wow it would be so difficult to choose a favorite song. I am so stuck in the 70's and 80's it's pathetic. If I had to choose something it would either be by Thomas Dolby or Peter Gabriel for popular music or maybe Andreas Vollenweider. This is Andreas live doing "May Green Be the Grass" www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFA9sOIy-Qs

@lance and chrisco: I LOVE Handel's "Messiah!" I don't care how many times it's overplayed, I still love it. It has so much energy and spirit in both the music and vocals.
We came to America in 1989 (I was three) and we were given cassette tapes of a Christian group. Twenty years later, last year, actually, to find out they were a group called, Silverwind. I still listen to them whenever I have a chance to.
Personally, I like sad songs, Oifen Pripetchik (which is Yiddish. Another one of my favorites is Adon Olam (by Uzi Chitman). Though I don't speak Hebrew or Yiddish, I like listening to these songs because they are so meaningful to my heritage.

Has to be Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.
I enjoy singing along to it in the car so no one can hear my terrible voice! ;D
Freddie was such a showman,it was such a shame he went the way he did.

is this considered a dead thread? LOL I love all music. Being hearing impaired, I listened to music instead of watching television most of the time. I mostly love all 70's music and have over 50 gigs of music on my hard drive *really need to get an external hard drive LOL* In case anyone is interested, I got this link a long time ago and sometimes go and listen to the jukebox when I don't feel like picking my own music. You can chose by the top songs of each year. www.tropicalglen.com/

No, I don't think so Venice. This is a fairly new forum. Music & art go together anyway & I have a lot of favourite songs.
I too have a hearing impairment & don't watch a lot of tv for that reason.
Great link too. Not sure if that is the one Possum sent us to ages ago for a competition. Good to have it - thankies!

That's a cool link!
My husband has hundreds of songs on his computer, and backed up on an external hard drive. I don't bother putting any on mine because I can usually hear his. And the CDs are near my computer anyway so I can play them if I want.
I don't really have a favourite song, I like a variety of music, and what I want to hear depends on my mood at the moment. I'm listening to The Lion Sleeps Tonight now.

That sums up how I feel about music. If I had to give up listening to music and reading books OR tv and computing. The old fashioned way would win everytime Maybe we should call this thread ... What are you listening to now ? Or has that already been done ? ;D
