Thanks Ella, Barbieq, Chrisco, and Blackpenny! I think that sig ranks as one of my favorite render sigs. I was just messing around with different subject matter. Not that great, but I was also just experimenting with effects and such... stock

Not that great, but I was also just experimenting with effects and such... stockOn the contrary! I think it is great! For one thing, you've got the bird facing the text - very important. Second, you've chosen a great background. Thirdly, a fitting text. Fourthly, a great border.

What barbieq said - and I couldn't have put it in words that well. The bird is blended nicely with the background, and the colours are nice.

Thanks Patty, Helen, Barbieq, and Blackpenny! I wanted to try that style of border, might have been a little better if it was about 3 pixels bigger. Im glad you liked it! I didnt think it would be that good, but I guess I did four things right! Thanks again!

Hi heat stroke and welcome. I just looked through your gallery and WOW - what a lot of fabulous work. The red ball is brilliant (I did that tut too, but it didn't turn out like yours). The space scapes/abstracts and sigs are all wonderful. I particularly love the gold abstract and I would just love to know how to begin to make one. I just don't know where to begin, so a mini-tut would be greatly appreciated. Great to have you on here

Manic Manc, thank you! I hope to see some from you! Pixey, Thanks you very much! I will try to dig something up for the gold abstract, that was made a while ago, so I need to figure it out again. Thanks again! Chrisco, I uploaded it the same day as the alien sig, so I didnt change the title of the gallery. Thanks for the comment! I did better than I thought! Update, my SOTW 'main focus text' entry:

I've got a red background on here & I can see your sig so much better on here. It really POPS!
Also I can see the rivets/screws that hold the letters in place. Very cool!

Great wood texture. Looks almost real. Only thing missing is a few small notches in the edges to make it look old and worn.

What a great entry! Looks mighty real. I especially like the screws because it makes it look 3D.

Thanks Barblieq, I have the default skin on this forum, I'll see how it looks with the red... Edit: it does look better with the red background! Thank you too Patty, I love the shadow boxes, they always get me too! Plus making them is a great shadow exercise! oh, and thanks for the comment about the gallery header! i had fun making it! Thanks Chrisco, Although I did forget to mention that i used a few steps from Welshblue's tutorial, just the first few steps to get the basic design down. That would complete it, thanks Leif! I am off to try that right after I post this, although I probably wont finish it for a while, so little time... Thanks Helen! I added those exactly for that reason! it just wasnt popping enough without them. Thanks Blackpenny! Always appreciated! Edit, new WIPs to prove that I have been working steadily on full sized pictures. I am still working on the space scape, mainly on the land texture and following Goonfella's advise. The "back to the Sea" picture is a relatively new WIP, heavy inspiration was a photo taken by a friend of mine on DA, link. I have already gotten his permission to do this. And I have not stopped using the Mandelbulb 3D program, I am just trying to make them into 'finished' artworks not. I am passed the experimenting phase, and I am now in the 'lets see how good I can make this look' phase. Alien mountain is my attempt so far, although I am seriously thinking about scrapping it. Any suggestions are more than welcome!

I can definitely see a ship in the second image (the seascape one). The third image is . That's excellent! The first image is superb. The colors work great. Maybe if you add another planet, maybe a bigger one or a shooting star that would be wonderful.

Your SOTW is great, it is the winner , and those WIP are excellent from now, just fade the stars in the lower part above the horizon, a little bit above that green glare, I really like this spacescape, it is missing something on the floor I am sure what it is. The sea scape is awesome, it will be great if you can add some wave close to the shore as the photo, I think I am seeing that ship as well. From the thumbnail, I thought it was a tree stump, but after viewing it in full size it is definitely a mountain in a very active area, volcano like. I like them all, and can't wait to see them all complete.
