It is awesome even with that size, you expressed the collision very well. When I work on any object on a new layer, I make sure that the area that I am working on won't reach or go beyond the edges of the canvas, so I can enlarge the background later if I feel it needs, usually I do a very simple background (major colors and lines) then redo it with more details and size it up in the end of my project.

Thanks Sargon, for the compliment and the tips! always helpful, and I will most likely use that in the future. I have a nack for starting with the background first, and then working my way up. Unfortunately that locks the size. Can you tell I'm a painter? And I did not forget about Pixey's request of a mini tutorial for the 3d gold abstract, so here it is. Hopefully it isnt too confusing. It was a little hard to figure out what I did, considering I made such a long time ago. But I believe I got most of the right process. Now lets see if I can figure out how to attach a PDF...

Sci Fi #2 is PDN, the hands were made looking at a picture of my own hands in that position. i took some colors from them too, but the shading was all done be me and was really frustrating. Glad you like them! i made it back before i knew what anti aliassing was though... thank you chrisco! thank you too Barbieq! i hope the tutorial is useful! thank you leif!

I think you have done a great job with both Sargon`s and Barbie`s tuts. The orb is so reflective it`s brilliant. I`ve been going over your previous work as well. I seem to have missed out on so much, I do apologise. The apple is excellent. You can just taste it. I used exactly the same tut to make mine and , like you , I used a different program to warp it. As I don`t have PS I used Gimp which has a similar warp tool. One thing PDN is seriously lacking is a decent warp tool. Keep up the good work!

Did I post a response here or was it on the main forum? Super shiny orb & a great outcome on the tute. Seriously great work!

Nice job on the CellDweller one, the colourings you chose really work with it. Clever/ nice job on the 2 tuts. If Sargon and BarbieQ' are like me, they'll get a buzz at how you've taken the basics and then done your own thing to put your own stamp on them.
Very, very nice all round mate

Sorry for the delay. Thank you Chrisco! Thank you for the praise Goonfella! And thats OK, it has been hard for me to look at everything as well. Between shoveling 3 feet of snow, college and this, I am slowly losing my mind. By the way, is Gimp free? I know you posted on the main forum Barbieq... i dont mind if you only respond in one gallery, the only reason I post art in both is for the different crowd. Thank you for the comment! It means a lot! Thank you Welshblue! Your comments and praise are always appreciated!

The orb is simply gorgeous and very beautiful. Barbie's tut result is magnificent. I love how you put your own twists to the tutorials--you have your own style in there. Very cool!

Excellent outcome with the sphere, only thing i would suggest is the base shadow should fade/become lighter/less distinct with each reflection as the light is dissipating, but i suppose that would depend on what its made from, great image though and i like the take on Barbies tut, nicely done

The Orb (a real Orbed ) and Waterworks are excellent pieces. You have a special knack for this, I can tell

Great work with the tutorials! I like the reflections in the orb, and Waterworks has a lot of depth.
